Immerse yourself in the rich history of St. Croix by staying in a beautiful unit located just one block away from the vibrant downtown/boardwalk area. This private, cozy 1-bedroom/1-bathroom unit is nestled in the up-and-coming Hospital Street area, surrounded by the charm of the early 19th century. The Moko Jumbie House, formerly the Danish Armory, offers a unique glimpse into the island's past. As you step outside, you'll be greeted by "The Guardians," a captivating bronze artwork by sculptor Ward Tomlinson Elicker, which adds a touch of artistry to your doorstep.
This historic property is over 200 years old and has been restored with much love and care as a 4-unit building. The added interest is in the placement on the stepped site and the double curved grand stairway leading to a masonry bay centered against the front gallery. The original yellow Danish bricks throughout the exterior have been preserved and allocated with great attention to detail, providing a truly unique experience. The floors are original old pine, restored thanks to many months of work preserving their impressive longevity.
Upon walking in, you are greeted by high ceilings, updated furniture, and a place to put your things. The bathroom, with its floor-to-ceiling tile, is completely renovated, ensuring a comfortable, clean stay. This unit also includes a split A/C unit in the main room.
All space inside your unit is private. The outside grounds are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. The shared laundry room downstairs is open to guests from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays; additional times may be available upon request.
Please note that although we have made every effort to make the building user-friendly, due to its status as a preserved historic building, it does not have wheelchair access.
Please note that we currently do not have backup power available. However, we are actively working on installing it.

Cute little place perfect for 2. Gated and very safe. Location was ideal bc you can walk to everything even in the pouring rain but so quiet- no street noise or bar noise. You can hear if people are parking but that’s it. Just bc your window is right there but not a big deal. Plenty of parking. Check in./check out was a breeze. Air conditioning, hot water, internet and tv (it poured so we did use tv) all great. Bed was very comfy but does dip in the middle. Pillow were good- not the stupid feather pillows at every hotel but an actual pillow. There are blackout curtains however you can’t pull them closed bc there are sheer curtains in the middle of them. We didn’t need them so no problem for us. All the little amenities- shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dish soap, dishes, microwave, fridge, coffee pot, iron were all adorable. I would definitely recommend and stay there again especially for the price point. They left us a little note and an entire book of things to do, go, see, where to eat, history and map of the island. The only thing was the property manager didn’t get back to us very fast regarding taxis but we figured it out anyway and the floor needed to be swept better around the edges by the bed. Great part is every taxi driver and local knows it so it’s easy to find!

This is an excellent choice for a couple who wish to be within easy walking distance to the very nice Christiansted boardwalk with seaside restaurants and shops. Excellent, free parking next to unit which itself is very nice, plus inside is a coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge & utensils that allow some cost savings for mixing in-unit, small meals with restaurant splurges, when desired. Nice, big shower, with towels available. Comfortable air conditioner inside with just outside veranda porch for outdoor relaxing and/or dining, with an elevated view. Highly recommend this small place, and would come back again, if visiting St Croix again.

The room and entire complex were so clean and beautiful. Host was super accommodating and very responsive. We walked to downtown Christiansted all of the time, usually in about 10 minutes. Lots to do there but VI Heil was a great way to explore further away. Highly recommend this property.

The guesthouse was a wonderful accommodation for our 3 day trip to St Croix. The unit itself was very well appointed and clean. There was a small basket of utensils/dishes and a filtered water pitcher already chilled in the fridge upon arrival. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the island in its entirety and also for the great proximity to everything in Christiansted. Tons of nightlife and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk. Everything about the guesthouse, including the rental rate, was absolutely perfect for our brief stay.
