Location was ideal for us. We wanted a lake place in Northwoods but walkable to town and attractions. Cabin was about a mile to the town grounds where the flea market happens each Monday. About 1/4 mile to the renowned Vilas County bike path system. Lake was awesome with nice sandy beach for swimming. Swim raft and kayaks were a bonus.

Overall I would rate this cabin about an 8 out of 10. The location on the lake was nice and convenient yet too close to Highway 70 for my personal preference. I would've liked to be further from a populated area. I could hear the highway at night sitting around the bonfire. The property was clean in all the obvious areas but not so clean under beds, furniture and couch cushions.Would be helpful to list property square footage on your website. Another couple of knocks was that you have to bring your own beach nd shower towels, ok that's fine but I assumed plenty of hand towels and washcloths would be provided but there were very few supplied. We were given a roll and a half of toilet paper only so we bought out own. Didn't realize the cabin didn't have AC. Luckily we were checking out the day the humidity was obnoxious. Great clear water with sandy bottom frontage. the supplied kayaks and party barge were very nice to have. We enjoyed fires inside on rainy days. Overall it was pretty nice with a nice cabin feel to it.

Visited with our family and several of my daughter's teenage friends. The property was well-kept and a fun location for swimming and generally enjoying the water. It's quite close to other cabins but doesn't feel that way. Property manager communication wasn't the best. The description of what is in the cabin isn't clear (washer and dryer? crock pot? towels?) so I asked the property manager about what is inside the house. They didn't know what the kitchen included and told me no towels were in the bathroom but there were towels. So I ended up bringing a crock pot, full sets of towels for 7 people and several baking dishes from home, only to find out they did have the items I asked about. That information should be available to guests and clear in the description (or in a guest email) for planning purposes. We received no check-in information or address information before we left home, even though we reserved 4 months earlier. The management company called us at 2 p.m. on our arrival date to tell us where to go and the door code to get in. Again, no communication in advance about how this would be handled or what we should expect. We also had an issue with the swim dock and contacted the management company as a courtesy to give them time to fix it for the next guest. Instead of fixing it (a 15 minute fix), they sent someone over to take the dock away from us. The swim dock was part of why we chose this property. One note to other guests: This house is very hot and damp. It has no air circulation through it even with all the windows open and it does not cool down at night even when it's quite a bit cooler outside. There is also no fan in the bathroom. Two portable fans are provided but luckily we brought two more, which helped at night.
