Tranquil River cottage w/hot tub, firepit , mins to a 18-holes golfing & fishing

A very unique property, a mix of old charm with many newer amenities. While it’s on the river it’s not usable water space, hard to get down to, and rapid flowing at times. Despite the kayaks in the picture, there were none and even if there were it’s not like you’re on a lake. There were several little annoyances with the property but all in all it was a solid stay. I would rate about 4.4 stars if I could, but I don’t think it warranted 5 stars for the price. Nothing that could have been fixed or anything like that while we were there, but enough to feel like it’s still a little bit of a work in progress. Owner was very nice and accommodative, communication was fine. The hot tub was under repair and wasn’t sure if we could use or not. Beds and pillows were ok. Thermostat fluctuated, had to keep turning up to get warm again. Would have liked to be able to use the outdoor areas more, but due to weather and other activities we did not. While the river view is peaceful, there is a highway across the river that is noisy and train tracks just in front of the house. Both nights we were there trains went through during the night blowing their whistles. Overall we were happy with our stay though.

The house was beautifully furnished and had pretty much everything we needed. We used the hot tub and loved it. We didn't spend a lot of time there because we were attending a family event in Binghamton. The bedrooms were very comfortable with good mattresses.

The host was so amazingly responsive. The cottage is beautiful; the grounds are beautiful. It is very private, as described with lovely views and so much space! My dog had a blast running laps around the yard. Sunrises were really lovely, either from the screened in porch, the deck in the yard, the dock, and even the window of the primary bedroom. The hot tub was on and warm when we got there. This was a perfect weekend getaway. Looking forward to visiting again when the weather warms up and we can swim and kayak in the river.

Perfect space for a weekend girls trip. Comfortable beds, beautiful views, working hot tub. One issue which was remedied immediately and also received a refund. Host and housekeeping more than accommodating. I would stay again.
