About this cottage rental

With beautiful views, kangaroos grazing at your doorstep and roaring open log fires the Redgum Log Cottage creates a space to step back from the hectic pace of modern life and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Whether it's a romantic weekend away or a break with the kids the Cottage is set in 60 acres of stunning bushland and offers you that secluded getaway in the Grampians

This hand built cottage has arisen from many recycled and restored materials such as redgum log slabs saved from the forestry, pine kitchen cupboards of New Zealand kauri pine found in the old St Arnaud Flour Mill. Even the sunburst on the Range Hood comes from an Australian built 1925 H.V.McKay, ‘Sunshine’ grain harvester. Experience for yourself how the early pioneers lived.

This property (with three rentals) is incredibly delightful. Each cottage is very separate with views looking in different directions which gave us a 100% feel of being the only ones there. The cottages have been beautifully built and furnished with everything you could need. We were there in the middle of winter. There was an open fire but you do need to run the reverse cycle all the time as well as the ceilings are high and a lof heat goes up there - but it's incredibly atmospheric. Electric blanket on the bed was a lovely touch on very cool nights. The host, Aidan, was very attentive - wood delivered every morning early and broken toaster replaced immediately, without question. We would definitely return and also refer all friends and family. Just a lovely way to finish our 3 weeks on the road. We stayed here for four nights.
