About this cabin rental
This adorable cabin is for small to medium groups and has all the amenities of a big cabin. It's cutely furnished and decorated. After a day hiking and exploring, sit on the deck and enjoy the view. One well-trained pet is allowed with payment of pet fee.
Major amenities include: Two Satellite Flat Screen TVs, Wi-Fi, Game Room, Slate Pool Table, outside decks and balcony, Two Charcoal Grills, and a 5-person hot tub.
This cabin is 2 stories. The upstairs Main Living Room has Brand New Leather Sofas, a 46'' Flat Screen Satellite TV with inputs for game console, computer, etc. Kitchen and dining table join the main living room. Two private bedrooms each with a Queen Bed. One bedroom has a private balcony for taking in the fresh mountain air. Both share one full bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
The downstairs Game Room has a Slate Pool Table, Flat screen Satellite TV, and large windows to take in the scenery while staying cozy and shooting pool. The Game Room also has a queen bed and has an adjacent full bathroom. Please be considerate of our pool table by never setting drink glasses down on it, using it for dining or beer pong, or attempting to move it so everyone can enjoy it.
Outside is a large Deck built around trees providing unique natural shade, two Charcoal Grills, Fire pit, and Covered Porch are on the Main Level for those drizzly days.
This cabin sits in vicinity of Grizzly Cabin and the Black Bear Lodge. Great opportunities for family reunions or large group activities if more than one cabin is desired.
Phone signal is spotty in the area Bear Cub is located, so plan accordingly if coordinating with members of your group. Usually a short walk outside of the house or towards the end of the driveway is enough to get connected.

The place was overall good. It was clean and as pictured with their updated pictures. The bedding was nice and the hottub was nice too, even though there was lots of wording around that it was "only for the owner" so they could use it as a legal shield. It is clearly intended to be usable by guests since there were other "we will charge you more if you leave it dirty" items. That aside, pool table was a nice touch although hard with some angles due to the width of the room its in. A mouse did get in and chew into our bread a little. We found a notice saying mice can get in sometimes and they try to keep it contained.The wifi was weak enough it couldn't stay connected at all unless you were out on the balcony above outside the one bedroom. I am guessing the device is actually down by the hotel and just pointed in this house's general direction. For a couple nights, it was okay and we made due. Decent enough for everything we wanted it for. The driveway was pretty dang steep too.

We recently stayed at this cabin near Red River Gorge, June 2026, and the location is truly the standout feature — a full 5 stars. It’s close to everything in Slade and makes getting to hikes and activities incredibly easy.The cabin itself was clean overall (4 stars), though we did notice mold in the downstairs shower. Comfort was fine, and the listing was accurate in noting that it’s a no‑frills stay — limited towels and no extra toiletries provided. The hot tub was a great way to end the day, and the property has a lot of potential to become a fantastic 5‑star cabin with just a bit of TLC.Where the stay fell short was communication (1 star). We had no internet service, and while normally that wouldn’t be a major issue, I had a loved one in the hospital and needed reliable connectivity. I drove into town for reception and I called during office hours when we arrived and never received a call back. I later stopped by the office and spoke with a staff member who was clearly overwhelmed and unable to help. Maintenance wasn’t available, and the staff member couldn’t even tell us where the modem was so we could try resetting it ourselves.If you’re looking for a great location for exploring Red River Gorge, this cabin absolutely delivers. But at this point, it’s the location doing all the heavy lifting.
