holiday apartment, near the beach, air condition, animals welcome

Sometimes it is people that make a place and the owners of this property are so welcoming. When we arrived during an extremely hot August afternoon we were invited to sit in the garden and given a glass of cold beer from the garden's beer bar which is truely marvellous. Davor explained it is it a serve yourself system and you just mark it on a board and settle up before you leave. Beer being 1 Euro a pint. The apartment is very spacious especially with teenage kids and the decor is a homage to pine furnishing, but everything is clean and works. We were on the top floor and had a view of the sea in the distance -local beach is a 10 min drive. There is also a well stocked mini supermarket in the village, the village pizzeria does some excellent inexpensive food. Davor also has tennis courts which you can use and if you follow the signs in the village that say "Tennis" it is a way of locating this apartment block initially. Unfortunately we did not play tennis as it was far too hot.There is a nice garden downstairs and big table where you can sit and chat with other guests in the evening or the owners themeselves Davor's english is pretty good. Examples of Davor and Vera's Istrian hospitality they called the rental car company as our air con was broken speaking with the agent and organised a replacement vehicle. Davor cooked an excellent bbq for my son's birthday on his great outside grillI - they also gave us lots of recommendations, maps and brochures of local sites if they had them. They do get a lot of repeat visitors from Germany and Italy and I was the first Irish visitor they have ever had. Although with a bar system like this I don't think I will be the last. I tried to persuade Davor that a pool would be far better option than building another tennis court but he wasn't having it. Thank you for making Istria special. June from Ireland
