About this villa rental
Set amongst the pine woodland that tops the descent into the fishing village of Sami, this outstanding location offers superb views over Sami Bay with Ithaki in the far distance and the lush hillsides embracing it on three sides.
Electric gates ensure that stray members of the local goat herds don’t stray into the grounds, which are well tended, planted with flowering shrubs and citrus trees and with a neatly mown lawn.
The light and spacious villa is furnished in an easy contemporary style throughout.
Location
It’s less than a 5 min drive down the hill into Sami where tavernas and cafes line the waterfront, prime position, in the morning, to sip a cappuccino and watch the sailing boats come and go and to check the ferries are running on schedule.
Although Sami does have a beach of its own beyond the harbour, it really is well worthwhile making the trip round to the next bay to Antisamos beach. Here pine cloaked mountains drop steeply down to the sea with their colours reflected in the crystal clear waters and edged by a crescent of white pebble beach. There are some sunbeds and a taverna backing the beach for lunch or a refreshing drink. Along the coast immediately north of Sami are several small coves and a little further on, the beach of Agia Paraskevi has water sport facilities.

NOTE: The 5th person can be accommodated on a simple folding bed, suitable for a child up to 10-12 yrs old only.
Housekeeping
Your Villa will be prepared for you on arrival with fresh bath and hand towels and all beds made up.
For stays of 7 nights or more - house towels will be changed every 3 - 4 days.
For stays of 14 nights or more - bed linen will be changed every 7 days.
Pool/beach towels - one per person for the duration of your stay.
Parking - Parking on the driveway

Location - views to die for me. Cleanliness the whole villa inside and out was spotless.
Pool/garden area.
More modern interior/kitchen than we were expecting.
Great value for money
Wasps were an issue but there’s probably not alot you can do about them. However, we have stayed in 3 villas in different parts of the island and never experienced anything like the amount of wasps we did here.
The beds are on the ok for me but my wife and daughter found the mattresses too hard. We all found the pillows awful - hard and lumpy. We all experienced disturbed with back/neck pains…
The internet is awful, we weren’t expecting superquick fibre but a reliable service should be expected.
Final issue, and one which will stop us booking this villa again is the building and proximity of the 3 new villas. They will overlook the property and negate/spoil its greatest feature: the peace and solitude which is very unfortunate.

The views from the property are stunning as it’s set back in the mountains overlooking Sami bay and Ithaca. The long balcony off each bedroom was a great place to sit in the evenings and the poolside area really well thought out with lots of shaded spots. The air con was a welcome touch on some hot days and worked really well. There was also lots of storage and a large kitchen.
The customer service when we had some nosie issues on tree cutting wasn’t dealt with initially very well but has since been rectified. The property, where very comfortable was not quite as luxurious as the price tag suggests. The hammock was worn when we arrived and there was some little signs of wear and tear around the property such as marks on the fridge door and walls. Also the mattress on the beds were very thin and hard. I would say that the empty shell buildings spoil an otherwise stunning view if built however it will ruin the privacy of the villa.

Villa was clean with the normal freelance villas high standards. Great furniture and facilities. Very close to Sami for shops etc. We often drove into Agia Efima for the evening which was about 15 minute drive.
We were quite disappointed to discover that other villas were in the process of being constructed very close to this villa. One in particular to the left of the villa which was a large ugly concrete building really impacts on the wonderful view over Sami. The pictures online don't show this at all so guests will only find out when they arrive. While we enjoy freelance villas we are put off coming to this villa again as it looks like it's becoming part of a complex with three other villas in construction in close proximity.
Hot water was not always accessible.
