Utopia River Retreat is a secluded paradise nestled along the Sabinal River in the Texas Hill Country.

The Utopia River Retreat was just what we needed after 3 nights camping out in Big Bend. The cabin we stayed in (Kickapoo) was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed (cooking utensils, bath towels, linens). The grounds were peaceful and scenic and had a nice swimming pool and volleyball net as well as riverfront access. At this time the river on the property didn't look great for swimming (no deep spits, tree branches, etc), but if you want to swim, Utopia City Park has a deep hole and is a quick 5 minutes away. Overall, great experience! I hope to bring my family back someday when the weather is warmer and we can make full use of the amenities.

Very beautiful

Myself, partner, and 2 teenage kids love to get away from the city on long weekends to explore small towns and hike gorgeous state parks. This 4th of July was no exception and Utopia River Retreat lived up to its name. A perfectly sized cabin with anything we could need was a perfect home base to our adventures in Hill Country. It was quiet, clean, surrounded by nature, and close to the Frio and Garner State Park. The fireworks we perfect and the sunsets absolutely stunning. Will definitely be back.

We liked the cabin; it was cozy and comfortable. The first 2 nights, we were the only ones in the property, so, it was truly an away-from-it-all vacation. Our pups loved it too and was super thrilled to see deer in the yard in the morning. The river was dried up (in November), but, the trees had turned colors, so, it was nice. This location is perfect if you want to visit Garner State Park and Lost Maples.
