La Belle Charentaise is an elegant mansion, close to La Rochelle, beaches and many tourist attractions. Our house will offer you tranquility, privacy and a warm welcome.
Located in a peaceful countryside setting, La Belle Charentaise has been restored to maintain the integrity of the original architecture while bringing modern comfort to the home.
The house offers 5 bedrooms decorated with family furniture, with private bathrooms, a large living room with a library and wooden games created by craftsmen of the family.
Our spacious kitchen is very well equipped for the preparation of your meals that you will enjoy sharing around the old elm table.
You can also dine on the terrace between the house and the swimming pool ... Or you can grilled meat under our préau... And finish your evening around the fire at the bottom of the garden, while tasting shamallow grill.
You can sunbathe on our large terrace as you leave the indoor pool, or read and relax in the garden.
All these features, as well as our flower garden and ample parking make our property an ideal resort for guests of all ages. Not to mention the famous microclimate of the plains of Charente Maritime, which promises sunny days and cool nights, ideal for a weekend or a week of vacation.

We had a great stay at the house with two families. Veronique was wonderful and the place was charming and well located for drives to interesting places. You certainly need a car. The pool kept the kids occupied and was big enough to really improve their swimming.

All of our family from young to old absolutely loved Veronique’s gîte. The space was perfectly set up for a large group with a range of books, games and toys to keep everyone entertained. The children were constantly in and out of the indoor pool and the fire pit where we roasted s’mores was a nice treat at the end of the day. The house is filled with so many interesting objects from France and further afield and the rooms are comfortable and cool at night even in the peak of summer. A small store is a convenient short walk away to buy bread and basic groceries. Veronique was a wonderful host making sure that she did everything she could to meet the needs of my son who uses a wheelchair. There is a wealth of information on the local area in the gîte and Veronique also answered any questions we had about what to do in the region.

Size and layout of property perfectly suited our 10 family members. Pool was well maintained and used for long periods every day. Barbecue area and seating ideal. Host friendly and efficient. Large supermarket only a few minutes away making provisioning easy. There was a problem with the WiFi as the 4G box only provided cover in the room it was in. Full property WiFi is a basic need nowadays as our party had 3 members who needed it for work and 4 children who needed it partly for school related projects.
However we would thoroughly recommend all other aspects of the property.

A beautiful well equipped house, spotlessly clean, and very sociable sitting and eating areas.large pool suitable for all ages, would definitely recommend this house the owner was very friendly and helpful and informative about the area.
