Quinta Toca do Mocho, Algarve

Mind you we had some rain a few days but overall every possible need is catered for in this villa. Loved the setting and will undoubtedly be staying again. Great communication and house was clean. One drawback people may find unaccustomed to is the no flushing of toilet paper. But no bother for us. Loved every single minute of our stay.

The planning was made easy by Patricia and Fernanda who were very helpful. We were met at the airport and followed the owners in our hire car via a supermarket to the villa. The villa was well appointed and very comfortable. Tocha de Mocho was exactly what we needed and we enjoyed it very much. The 'children' two of 18 and two of 20, had been touring Portugal by train and joined us the next day. They were pleased to relax by the pool and enjoyed the inflatable crocodile, ball, boat etc. that they found outside. We visited Faro, Tavira and its island and Amona Island as well as a few visits to Olhao. These included a meal out for our daughters birthday and a tour of the fish market which got us lots of fish to barbecue. We enjoyed the roof top views, although seeing a hillside on fire during the forest fires was slightly alarming! On the last day, we left with an hour or two to look around the Ria Formosa, and wish we had given ourselves a day or two. A hired car is essential as the walk to Olhao would be hot and dusty and the road is busier than you would enjoy walking along. Many thanks, we hope to be back.
