"Great place - our second visit. In centre of Conwy - but very quiet overnight. South facing kitchen with windows opening to the private patio is a great feature when the sun shines."

About this cottage rental

Creoso to Hen Dafarn ‘the old tavern’, a spacious 15th century townhouse, elegantly furnished with a contemporary style and traditional Welsh woolens, offering the ideal blend of modern comfort and old-world character.

Located on a quiet residential street Hen Dafarn is the ideal location to stay while enjoying the Edwardian Castle and walled town of Conwy or the surrounding countryside, including the dramatic beauty of the Snowdonia Mountains. The property is a stones throw to the castle, and a short walk to the lovely marina which hosts many fairs and festivals, specialist and national shops, quality restaurants and traditional pubs.

Hen Dafarn is deceptively spacious and can accommodate up to 6. As you enter the cottage you are immediately welcomed by the large stone inglenook fireplace with a convenient and eco-friendly gas stove. Old ship beams, which are exposed throughout the house add to its charm. The comfortable seating area invites you to relax under the open plan beamed living and dining area with TV and Wi-Fi. The well-equipped kitchen, including ample storage space, induction cooktop, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, has contemporary folding doors leading straight out into the large slate-flagged south facing courtyard garden. The garden is equipped with table and chairs. This secluded, peaceful, and sunny patio is the perfect setting for alfresco dining during the summer months.

On the first floor is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a modern family bathroom with an over bath shower. Stairs to the second floor lead to an impressive mezzanine king size bedroom whose windows open out to beautiful views of Conwy Castle. An ensuite shower room completes the suite.

Parking is either on the road by the front door or car parks are available nearby. For bookings and more information please contact Finest Retreats.

We had a lovely time at Hen Dafarn. It is located in a central area, easy to get around to nearby attractions and restaurants. It was spacious and comfortable.

We were a family party of 3 on a first time vacation to Wales. This property perfectly suited our needs. It is in a very convenient location and all of Conwy is easily accessible from here. The home is clean and comfortable, thoroughly fitted out with items needed for a stay. The ability to open the doors to the garden area and have an indoor/outdoor space was very nice. Communication with the property manager was easy and check-in and out was simple and efficient. The town was lovely and the people were very kind and friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay in Conwy and at Hen Dafarn and would happily stay again. We very highly recommend this property.

Very comfortable good size home from home with well equipped kitchen. Well located to explore Conwy and the Conwy valley. Parking arrangements not ideal, but otherwise not much to find fault with.

We each had our separate floor, giving us plenty of space to ourselves and each had a private bathroom. Loved the view from master bedroom of the Castle and St. Mary’s clock tower. We managed (sometimes having to go around the one way street a few times) to find parking on the street of the townhouse. Everything considered, this is the perfect place to stay in N. Wales. Would stay again.

A quiet street but so much very close by including restaurants pubs shops. A fantastic base to explore north Wales. Wish we had stayed longer. The house was lovely cosy- comfortable sofas and chairs. Loved waking up to the view across the rooftops of the castle. Very well equipped with everything you might need. Would book again
