Perfect winter retreat! A quick drive to Highlands Main Street. Across the road from the Lake with gorgeous lake views. Cozy up on the deck in provided white terry bathrobe, warmed by the propane fire table and sip that glass of wine! Spend time exploring the nearby local waterfalls, hiking or fishing. This lake home has much to offer with high speed fiber internet, wood burning fireplace and backyard wood burning fire-pit. Get the entire experience with kayaks included to enjoy Lake Sequoyah.
This wonderful home is less than a 5 minute drive to downtown Highlands and is just down the road from On The Verandah! Featuring 2 bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms, full kitchen and laundry room, 2 enormous televisions with YouTubeTV and plenty of covered and non-covered deck space!
This home is just across the 2 lane road from Lake Sequoyah. There is lakeside property with 2 chairs and 2 kayaks for guest use. For Hikers there is plenty of trails to explore from nearby Whiteside Mountain to Sunset Rock in town, and right down the road are both Dry Falls and Bridal Veil. Looking for a fun place with the kids? The Biological Station is fantastic! Even the art lovers can find lots to explore at The Bascom right on the way into town.
This home is perfect for active guests who want to get out and explore what Highlands has to offer as well as those looking for a comfortable place to relax.
Charging stations can be found at each bedside, white noise machines in each bedroom and one plush bathrobe per bathroom. Plenty of books and games for those rainy days indoors.
While we want to give you a home where your fur-baby can vacation with you there isn't a lot of grounds for long walks directly on the property. For exercise purposes there are many local and natural places quick drives away by car. Your fur-baby can lounge safely off leash on the front deck with you with a fully latching gate.
Stairs from the front parking up to the deck and stairs to the kitchen door. Sloped ramp to the back door. When accessing the lake space there are steps down that may be difficult to navigate for elderly or limited mobility
***Potential road noise during peak morning and evening hours & busy holiday times. White noise machines are provided for rest times in each bedroom although the road is quiet during late evening

This house is wonderful! Nice open floor plan. Loads of deck space. Great view of the lake. Very comfortable beds. Whole house was clean. Loved the binder that contained instructions and things to do. We really liked not having to keep up with a key for the house. The combination locks worked really well. My husband loved the All-clad cookware! Also thank you so much for having a freezer that made ice!! Those little things make a big difference. Close to scenic overlooks and two waterfalls just down the road. Our stay was fantastic! Next time we go to Highlands we will stay there again!

We had an amazing stay at Hicks Hideawy for a spring break, waterfall chasing, hiking trip! We enjoyed the house and proximity to parks, trails, and downtown!

This conveniently located cabin provided a perfect mountain retreat. It is spacious, clean, and very well appointed. The large deck overlooking the lake has ample seating including a fire table. Our host, Holly, was responsive and easy to communicate with. Excellent instructions were provided and everything worked like a charm. This "hideaway" provided everything we needed and wanted. We definitely would like to do a return visit!
