In this unique studio cabin you will be staying in an updated 1908 quarters of the Nederland black smith. Walking distance to town, you are at the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park offering pristine hiking trails, lakes, white water rafting, kayaking, fishing, climbing, backcountry skiing, and more! Eldora Ski Resort is a 10 min drive away. The Hobbit shares a quaint outdoor courtyard, gas fire pit & grill with the Gypsy Getaway just adjacent. Have 4 guests? Rent both!

The space
The Hobbit House is Located less than 2 blocks from the heart of Nederland offering restaurants, bars, communal office space/internet, library, bank, beautiful Barker Reservoir and loads of mountain character. Nederland is a funky town just 18 miles from Boulder, 45 minutes from Denver. Sitting at 8600ft above sea level, it is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park offering pristine hiking trails, lakes, white water rafting, kayaking, fishing, climbing, backcountry skiing, and more. Eldora Ski Resort is a quick 10 min. drive or bus ride away! The Hobbit House is a private cabin on our home property and shares a common outdoor courtyard, outdoor gas fire pit, and grill with the Hobbit House rental just adjacent. Includes all utilities and wifi. No pets.
Have 4 guests? Rent both cabins! Renting both cabins makes for a special and unique private retreat.

We have fragile mountain plumbing. Please nothing down the toilet other than the RV toilet paper provided. Trap all food going down kitchen sink and dispose of in trashcan. No harsh chemicals like bleach, toilet bowl cleaner or Drain-o down the plumbing system.

Absolutely Magical Stay at the Hobbit House!My husband and I stayed at the Hobbit House from October 24–27 while wedding venue hunting for our daughter, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The moment we arrived, we felt cozy, comfortable, and completely at home. Every detail was thoughtful, and the space had everything we needed for a relaxing, memorable stay.We loved walking into town, meeting new friends, and soaking up the wonderful views, live music, and great food. The area’s easygoing, welcoming energy made the experience even more special.The Hobbit House itself is pure charm — cozy, creative, and surrounded by beauty. It felt like stepping into a storybook. We left refreshed, grateful, and already planning our next visit.If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway that combines comfort, creativity, and amazing vibes, this is it. Thank you for sharing such a magical spot with us!

On positive note this property is cute & comfy. It was very clean inside and close to town and to our family that we were visiting. Good value.
On the downside getting up to property once you park your car the path to Hobbit House was narrow (about 18" footpath) poorly lit and medium sized bolders in it. The solar lights were covered over by 2' tall brush. The outside grounds were not mowed and unkept. My husband is 78 and it was difficult for him to walk up and down to Hobbit House. The pictures in VRBO do not show it from street level.
Also, if you like your coffee and a lot of it. They only have a Kuerig available. Bring your own pot or make one cup at a time.
A shout out to Amy (Host). We had a problem with the Keurig leaking water in tray and there were only 3 pods in rental when we arrived. She came right away with a bag of pods. Took machine and said it was fixed. I hated to bother her again but it was still leaking.
On a whole it was fine. Wanted to make anyone else looking to rent Hobbit House made aware of accessibility if you have issues walking.
