BEFORE YOU BOOK PLEASE READ
From November 1- April 15 please be aware that the Utah Department of Transportation and Town of Brighton rules about canyon travel require snow tires (3PMSF) or chains to make it safely up the canyon and to the home. Snow plowing on neighborhood roads is provided by local vendors and intermittent. Cottonwood Lodging does not have control over snow plowing. DO NOT TAKE UBERS OR LYFTS TO THIS PROPERTY. Plan to check in between 4pm - 8pm at the latest to help avoid unplowed roads if it is storming and note that this home can accommodate ONLY 2 vehicles.
Winter Guided Arrival:
- At the request of the town of Brighton to ensure that no one gets stuck or lost and disturbs the locals, a staff member will meet you on the main road and guide you to your property. Plan to check in between 4pm - 8pm at the latest. This allows us to provide assistance if necessary and helps to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming. Please do not arrive on your own even if you have stayed with us before. This keeps a positive relationship with the neighbors who appreciate it.
Mountain View Chalet is managed by locally owned and operated property manager Cottonwood Lodging Company where the guest experience is most important. Please reach out for information about the area and other services offered by Cottonwood Lodging.
Mountain View Chalet is a wonderful 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom Silver Fork home located just 1.1 miles from Solitude, and 3.5 miles from Brighton. Staying here ensures a breathtaking view of the canyon, a cabin-cozy wood interior with all the comforts of home, a quick trip to be first in line at the lifts in winter, and summer hiking trails right out your front door! This chalet is absolutely ideal for your Big Cottonwood Canyon adventures.
NOTE FOR 2025/2026 WINTER SEASON: Our wood stove is out of order this winter, unfortuantely it wasn't able to be repaired before the snow started falling. Upgrades are coming in the spring!
MAIN FLOOR:
-Living Room- Gather on 2 comfy couches and 2 rocking chairs to enjoy a fireside conversation or watch a movie on our new smart TV.
-Kitchen and Dining- Outfitted with everything you need to cook and enjoy a hearty meal. We provide many kitchen tools as well as basic spices. The dining table has seats for 6!
-Full Bathroom- Common bathroom with a combo shower/tub.
-Office Area- Custom-made wooden desk in an area off the kitchen. Great for getting some work done on your trip.
-Laundry Room- Full sized w/d available, detergent provided.
UPSTAIRS:
-Sitting Room- Enjoy some sun and great views from the sitting room upstairs!
-Half Bathroom- Cute custom-built half bathroom tucked away in the Sitting Room for your convenience.
-Primary Bedroom- Find a cozy King bed in the primary bedroom.
-Guest Room A- Two twin beds found in this room.
-Guest Room B- Two twin beds in the second guest room as well. All bedrooms have clean and cozy linens provided.
Wifi is provided through CenturyLink at about 52 MBPS download speed.

We all had such a wonderful stay!! Ages 75, 62, 37, 34, and 32. Frequent comments on how "perfect" this home was, because it felt like home. We had space to ourselves as needed, but such a great communal design for time together. No need to look any further next time- great location, great deal!!

The cabin was lovely and we had a very nice stay. Communication from the lodging company was great and very informative. The outside is definitely more "weathered" than the photo. It is dark at night so getting to the place was an adventure. But once you figured it out it was fine. Inside was very clean but there was a musty smell in the upstairs bathroom. The fan in the bedroom was great as it was hot! Not sure if the other rooms had them.

We loved our stay, the accommodations, and the location. I appreciate the communication from the management team. We came prepared with a 4x4 truck, Three-Peak Mountain SnowFlake (3PMSF) rated tires, snow chains, and winter mountain experience. The snow in Big Cottonwood Canyon is legit. Come prepared and enjoy the deep Utah POW ! ! !
