About this cabin rental
The ultimate year round cabin getaway at the Linger Longer Lodge. This western facing cabin with open windows, expansive deck & shoreline is just the place for your weekend (or week!) getaway. There is something for everyone, in every season! The space is great for your family vacation but cozy enough for a couples getaway. Staying longer? The cabin is located only 1 hour from many state forests and nature preserves as well as Duluth!
This A-frame cabin provides amazing views of the Minong Flowage lake, especially at sunset.
The master suite is large & provides a private space to retreat for two guests at the end of the night. In the loft, you have 1 full and two twin beds + a fold out futon.
The outdoor deck spans the entire house with a convenient gate to keep all young ones (and furry friends) safe. Open the gate and you are just steps from the water with a sand bottom.
The cabin is hooked up to well water with a filtration system that is great!
It is important to note, there is no air conditioning in the cabin. There is a nice breeze from the lake that will cool down the cabin through open windows but in the hotter months the temperature will rise. In the winter, the area does experience extremely cold temps. Space heaters and the wood burning fireplace help keep you cozy during your stay.
Lastly, when the cabin is not rented we do personally use the space so you will find some of our items here. We also have two pups that hang out with us here. They are never allowed in the loft but do spend time in all of the main level areas. The house is thoroughly cleaned but if you have severe allergies this unfortunately may not be the cabin for you.
This cabin is year round with multiple fun activities in each season. Winterized for your coldest nights and close to the lake for the hottest summer days.
What will your weekend look like?
WINTER: Cozy up for a winter getaway. Burn a fire and play boardgames or pop in a VHS. Looking for more adventure? Snowmobile on the trails or take a day trip up to Spirit Mountain and hit the slopes, only an hour drive!
SPRING: Watch the ice melt from the lake while burning a fire inside, or get lucky with one of those warm spring days on the lake! Watch the lake come back to life with birds and animals running about as the weather warms. You are guaranteed to see deer in the yard!
SUMMER: Take out the canoe or simply swim along the sandy shoreline. With multiple restaurants, sand bars and fishing spots on the lake your options are endless.
FALL: Take to the trails and rent ATVs from nearby spots, there are 100s of trails straight from the cabin. Hike the gorgeous nature preserves in the area and take in the beautiful fall colors. End your night with a fire (inside or out!)

The cabin itself is adorable. Very well stocked and very easy to live in for a week. What we liked is that this is a very pet friendly home, but we walked into a wall of dog smell. It took opening all the doors and windows for a few hours to get it out of the house. It’s very overwhelming! It’s not something that can easily be covered by air fresheners and Febreze, but it’s more baked into the furniture and carpet.
The cabin could definitely use some love. The property management company seems like they’re getting by doing as little as they possibly can for cleaning and stocking wood. Within the first three minutes of being there, we found three piles of dog poop, a dirty Kleenex on the side table in the bedroom, and somebody’s vape pen on the kitchen counter.
The Flowage is beautiful. The neighbor next-door is a great go-to if you want to go fishing. He’s happy to share his tips.
With better care, this could be an amazing vacation rental.
