Recharge/ bonding needed? This retreat is ±8.6 miles from Sneedville, nestled Newman's Ridge facing Powell mountain. You’ll love this cozy chalet because of the views, the location, the ambiance, the outdoors space, mostly because you have escaped the every day grinding. Come here and unplug & unwind. Take a hike down to the pond, watch the cows graze, look up at the mountain, get refreshed and recharged.
Relax on the porch overlooking the valley. Enjoy the silence and tranquility of this rural setting. Enjoy beautiful views. Relax in the tranquility of these mountains. Neighbors are more than 1,100 ft away as the crow flies. Private driveway. Only one quiet road 1,100 ft away. Water supply is form a private uncontaminated well on the property.

Quiet rural agricultural community. Visit the Melungeon historical site and museum in Vardy community 1.0 mile west of chalet.
(remember this is remote..... remember NOT to follow your GPS, but the given directions.)

Park you car right at the entrance to the chalet. No public transportation. Please note to drive slowly along small country roads: there are plenty of healthy deer grazing in the valley. (more so at night!!)
If you have to use your cell phone, drive drive back the way you came for about 1.75 miles until you get a signal on you cell phone...(some cell phones make WiFi calling)
Visit the historical Wilderness Road State Park ±26 miles from here just across Powell Mountain. Proceed another ten miles from there to the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Or visit the natural Tunnel State Park located 32 miles NE from the Chalet... or the Sevierville, Pigeon forge Gatlingburg area with all of it's attractions about ±82 miles south of here. AND, best of all, if you come in the fall, the leaves are spectacular here, and you do not have to fight the crowds in the Smokie Mountain tourist traps!

This was a lovely, cozy, clean and comfortable cabin. It was well stocked and organized. The setting was beautiful, peaceful and quiet! Loved listening to the frogs by the pond and cows in the pasture down the hill.

Very relaxing space to get away from the stressors of daily life. Loved the viking theme! Fully stocked with kitchenware, coffee, and spices!! Everything was perfect for my much needed time away.

My partner and I stayed in this cabin for just under 2 weeks and it was nothing short of magical. From a fully outfitted kitchen, to a breath taking view once you step outside, even down to the bathrobes that we were able to use, this cabin is worth every penny and more! I highly recommend this property to anyone who is willing to make the drive out to stay here. We will definitely be coming back!
