About this chalet rental

"Il Calaprico" is a typical Saracen trullo with 6 domes located inside a centuries-old olive grove overlooking the sea, with numerous monumental plants and several varieties of fruit trees.

The entire property, of over 13,000 square meters, is bounded by dry-stone walls and runs along the upper bed of the Lamasanta, a karst stream that descends towards the sea from the heights of the Ostuni hinterland, creating a one-of-a-kind ecosystem, rich in spontaneous Mediterranean wildlife and vegetation. The Lamasanta, along its path towards the Ostuni marina, crosses centuries-old olive groves, historic farms and the evocative Monastic Fraternity of Bose, and is perfect for walks or excursions by mountain bike from Calaprico.

The trullo consists of a living area with open kitchen, dining table and chairs, 2 bedrooms of which one has a queen size bed (convertible in 2 single beds) and 1 one with a French size bed, and a bathroom. There is a large outdoor area with table, chairs and deck chairs from which it is possible to enjoy the sea, being located in an elevated area halfway between the town and the sea.

*The villa where the owner lives is located within the same land.

*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.

Ostuni, known to the world as the White City, is the pearl of the Itria Valley. Its blindingly white, immense historic center culminates in the Cathedral (600 meters from the apartment) that soars over the plain of olive trees, the coastal dune park and a crystal-clear sea. Characteristic are its narrow streets, the Piazza della Libertà (5 minutes away) and the column of St. Oronzo that majestically protects the town.

Its countryside stretches into the heart of the Itria Valley. A few kilometers away is Ceglie Messapica, a center of tradition and enogastronomy; Cisternino, a village recognized as one of the most beautiful in Italy; and Alberobello, whose famous trulli have been a world heritage site since 1996. About 30 km to the north we find the Archaeological Park of Egnatia, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with a charming historic center and beautiful beaches. To the north (80 km) we find Bari, the gateway to the East, while proceeding south we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi to reach Lecce, the capital of Baroque. Moving westward there is Taranto, heart of Magna Graecia, and finally to Matera, characteristic for its sassi and European Capital of Culture 2019.

Brindisi (30 minutes) and Bari (60 minutes) are the closest airports to Ostuni.
