Very spacious, clean and with updated interior and kitchen. Clear communications with owner. Easy access to Chattanooga and the Chickamauga National Battlefield Park which provides hiking and biking on prepared trails an quiets roadways. We traveled to Chickamauga for a family wedding and found this property. It worked well for our group of 5. We used 4 of the 5 bedrooms. The property is ideally located in the very center of downtown Chickamauga on the grounds of an historic mansion. There isn't much to do in Chickamauga and found we had to travel outside of the small town for most of what we wanted to do but a great choice and it worked well. We had no internet upon arrival but the host/manager immediately had a crew to the house for the repair. The only other comment I would offer is relative to bathrooms. There is a full, small bathroom on the 2nd floor where 3 bedrooms are located. And a larger full bath on the first floor for use by the two bedrooms on that level located on opposite sides of the home. The bathroom is located inside the one bedroom so it was awkward for general use and for the other bedroom occupants. Not a huge deal.Note the kitchen has only a regular 12 cup coffee pot and not a Keurig as most properties. We always bring along our K cups and had to find other coffee after arrival. We would recommend this property and would happily stay there again.

The house and location were very pretty and very historic. Lots of Cival War info at the Gordon-Lee mansion. There were some issues though. The house had sewer smell that would come and go and a musty smell. I bought candles to mask it. Lots of cobwebs in and outside the windows. The couches were dirty/stained. There were not enough chairs for the enclosed porch and none for out on the patio. A table on the patio would be very nice to have. We bought two outdoor chairs. We did not use the grill because it was dirty and rusted. Not very appealing. We bought and replaced some lightbulbs. There are still some needing to be replaced. The most important thing is to note that there are brick stairs leading into the back porch (the home's point of entry) that are difficult to manage. There are no handrails. I realize that this house was not advertised as "handicap accessible" but it was still unsafe for the elderly in our group. The steps are narrow and high and the door is narrow. We did appreciate the large kitchen and master bedroom. The living room was a nice place to gather. The TV is very small for the size of the room. Two of the bedrooms upstairs only have double sized beds and that was difficult for the adults who had to sleep up there! They were old and not very comfortable. I suggest they be replaced with newer queen sized beds asap. It was nice to have the one bedroom upstairs with twin beds. The little town of Chickamauga was quaint.
