The building dates back to the 14th century and has been lovingly restored, combining historic charm with modern comfort. Guests enjoy a private pool with views of the rolling Chianti hills and benefit from the excellent Il Papavero restaurant just a few steps away in the same hamlet.
Located in the Chianti Classico region, Torretta Barbischio offers easy access to renowned wineries, castles, and picturesque villages. The cultural cities of Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, and Arezzo are perfect for day trips. Gaiole, with its restaurants, small shops, and a COOP supermarket, is just 3 km away.
The house sits in a peaceful hamlet and provides an authentic Tuscan atmosphere. The terraced garden includes a covered dining area and several outdoor seating areas , making it perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view.

This property is beautiful inside and out. If I remember correctly, there’s 20-25 people currently living in Barbischio. It’s peaceful with fantastic views to the west over Gaiole. Gailoe is less than 10 minutes away with access to grocery, meat market, several restaurants and gelato!
The location is perfect with access to the train in Montivarchi in 25-30 minutes. Radda, Volpaia, Greve,,Siena, San Gimignano…all close.
We will stay here again.
