We read many reviews before arriving and came with an open mind. Some common issues mentioned by previous guests were present but mostly minor from our perspective. Communication with Raul wasn’t great at first but improved during our stay.The home is in a great location and felt very safe. The gated yard and driveway were a plus. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and outdoor grill—my son even grilled black pig one night. Each room had A/C, though one bedroom’s unit was broken. Raul couldn’t repair it during our stay, but we used a fan from the kitchen which helped.The island is humid, and we did see several cockroaches, both alive and dead. Raul said he disinfects, but roach traps might help. We also had issues with the dryer, which he replaced with a working used one.The second floor has no bathroom, but this wasn’t a problem for us as our grandkids stayed up there. Adults may find it less convenient. The primary bedroom has a jacuzzi tub, but you can’t stand in it due to the jets. There’s also a full bathroom outside.Raul kindly left fruit, water, and muffins as a welcome gift. He also asked us to pay a new tax; VRBO advised against it, but we paid it to be fair.Overall, it’s a nice home with great amenities. We enjoyed our stay despite a few minor issues.

A wonderful vacation home. There were 13 of us who stayed in a very spacious house. All the amenities that you could need and more. The pool and hot tub were very nice and well maintained.
We rented the large van from the owners and were able to drive around the island easily.

The home was a little pricey but really nice to stay in. A couple things were broken from wear and tear but the owners were on top of it when we reached out. The dishwashers electrical plug was burnt so they fixed that immediately only to find out the soap holder didnt close. we chose not to say anything and just washed by hand. Their worker was great and kept the landscape looking fresh. A few things they should have in their guest book would be that The dryer needs to be emptied (a water area that we finally figured out after a few days of wet cloths) and where exactly to put the trash on trash day. We felt bad we never put the trash out.
The only thing we were put off by was the owners just showing up un announced for random things and coming in the house when we "werent home". (No cars were in the driveway but people were home) we chalked it up to being an "Azores thing" but unsettling none the less.
The owners restaurant has amazing food as well and the delivered platters to us which was extremely helpful considering how hard it was to get dinner reservations for 12 ppl.
Overall a great stay!
