Our dream was to create a luxury lodge that captures the heart of those unforgettable Wisconsin moments. Knotty Barrel Lodge is more than a place to stay, it’s a place to gather, celebrate, and reconnect.
The Knotty Barrel Lodge is your nostalgic Northwoods escape on Lake Minocqua. Perched above a stylish Wisconsin supper club, this luxe lodge features a private boat slip, floor-to-ceiling lake views, a cozy bunk room built for laughs, and your own private bar. It sleeps 14 and blends the magic of summer camp with elevated comfort. Steps from downtown and the Bearskin Trail; come make memories that stick.
The Lake Room
Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Lake Minocqua, providing a stunning backdrop for the gathering area, dining table, ping pong, and pool table. There’s even a retro gaming system for a little friendly competition.
The Fireplace Room
A cozy spot to gather around the fire, watch a movie on the big screen, and enjoy drinks from a historic bar that echoes the charm of yesteryear.
The Fox Den
A private suite with a king-sized bed and a cozy getting-ready area, perfect for those who want a little retreat within the lodge.
The Bunk Room
The ultimate bunk room experience with 3 handcrafted triple bunk beds; 6 queen and 3 twin beds, each with a privacy curtain and dressed in cozy Pendleton quilts. It’s like summer camp, but even better!
The Kitchen
Fully stocked with everything you need to whip up your family’s favorite casserole. Plus, there’s a charcuterie station and a coffee and tea bar to fuel your mornings and unwind in the evenings.
Bathrooms & Showers
We’ve thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The lodge features two showers, a full bath, and separate men’s and women’s bathrooms, ensuring plenty of space for everyone to get ready.
The Deck & Pier
A deck overlooking Lake Minocqua invites you to soak in the view. Soon, a 12-slip pier will offer a place to dock, with one slip dedicated just for our guests.

The lodge is wonderful! We loved everything about it. Furnishings were definitely first class and there was nothing forgotten about. Beds were so comfortable and linens were top notch. Family friendly for sure! Kitchen was phenomenal with such thoughtful extras! Appliances were great and we had everything needed for cooking. I can not express enough how amazing the view is! Location can not be beat. You will not be disappointed with this beautiful home! And Amy and David were always available and quick to respond! 10 out of 10

Spent four days in Minocqua at the Knotty Barrel Lodge. I have been spending summers in Minocqua for 30 years, there is nothing like this place. Perfect location, walking distance to town, easy for boat rental. There is a great supper club downstairs with a friendly staff (btw: noise from the restaurant is not an issue at all)The property is clean and so unique. The beds are crazy comfortable, bunk room in great condition with lockers and vanity mirrors, showers and bathrooms in perfect shape. There is a huge bar to sit at, and a full kitchen with every appliance you can possibly imagine (including waffle maker, coffee machine, cereal bar, huge fridge/freezer, stove, dishwasher, etc etc). The kids loved the arcade games, ping pong, pool table, and access to a pier for boating and pictures. The Outdoor firepit on the patio overlooking the lake was very fun post dinner. Highly recommend!! The owners are so nice, accommodating, and available to answer any questions.
