About this house rental
This side of the renovated farmhouse, is the oldest part of the estate. Some hunting frescos in the dining/living room prove its origin as an hunting hut although it has been a farmer house and a stable too. The date 1850 is probably when the house was converted from hunting lodge to farmhouse. There are also 2 apartments, one for the caretaker and one, seldom used, for the owners. Very old large working farm "Podere Valle di Sotto". 2 km from the centre of Volterra, 30 km from the centre of San Gimignano, 40 km from the centre of Pisa, in a quiet position on top of a hill, in the countryside. Private: garden, swimming pool (6 x 12 m, depth 120 - 200 cm, seasonal availability: 15.May. - 27.Sep.) with internal staircase and salt-electrolysis pool-cleaning system. Table tennis, garden furniture, barbecue, children's playground. In the house: with TV, internet access, washing machine. Room cleaning on request (extra). Motor access (via unmade road). Parking at the house. Shop 2 km, restaurant 2 km, bus stop 2 km, railway station 10 km.

Great house with pool & Volterra is beautiful. Great base for travel in N W Tuscany (Pisa, Lucca and the hilltop towns.) No joke, a car is essential. We had a wonderful week.

Private, well kitted out, great swimming pool. Volterra is a fantastic town with excellent restaurants.

We spent one week in Valle Di Sotto and we loved it. Place is very near the village so we walked in the evening to the village to have a dinner. Pool is very good and big enough. Apartment was lovely with all equipments we needed. House really old originally, which make it unique (frescoes on the wall, fireplace in the kitchen etc).
