About this cabin rental

Welcome to Camp!

When we first stepped foot on this property we instantly knew it was a magical place. We have worked diligently to breath new life and energy into this camp. Many necessary improvements have been made and some comforts added, but our goal is to have it remain a family camp. In our experience camps have quirks and uniqueness’s that make each one special in their own way.

Our goal is to bring families and friends together to make wonderful memories. Time at camp is about connecting, having fun, relaxing, unwinding, and escaping from the constant hum of daily life. Stay here and enjoy the gorgeous soft sand beach, breath taking sunsets, and the unbeatable view of Katahdin. This idyllic location is ideal as a basecamp for adventures to the nearby wilderness of Baxter State Park, The West Branch of the Penobscot River, Katahdin Iron Works, Nahmakanta Public Reserve Lands, Debsconeag Lakes Wilderness Area, or the Katahdin Woods and Water National Monument. This is an outdoor lover’s paradise.

Wonderful base of operations for our days into Baxter State Park (highly recommended). Wonderful views out over the lake. We enjoyed hearing the calls of the loons in the evening and overnight.Heating the place can be a little awkward (there’s a Heat & Glo) gas fireplace with a heated air fan that serves this purpose (better than I expected) and portable electric radiators for the upstairs bedrooms if needed. There’s no TV and no central air but honestly that’s part of the point - and neither are necessary here. (They do have Wi-Fi so you won’t really be completely off the grid.). In warmer months, you could definitely enjoy getting in the water here as well. This place was wonderful for getting away from it all, yet right in the middle of a lot of other things.

Truly a beautiful spot. It was so peaceful and although our stay had to get shortened because of life things, we were very happy with the accommodations. You can tell that the owners care very much about their place.

You'll never want to leave! We took a risk booking a new-to-VRBO property with few reviews and felt like we had won the jackpot. Rick is a great host - responsive and helpful and really cares about his guests - and the property exceeded all of our expectations and was great for our young family. The camp itself is private, cozy, extremely clean and has magazine worthy views from nearly every room. You'll find a more traditional camp vibe downstairs (complete with stuffed animal heads mounted on the walls) with two glassed in porches that gave the kids (4 and 8) room to spread out and play. Upstairs are two very nicely recently remodeled bathrooms and bedrooms. At night we kept the sliding doors in the bedrooms open to the small balconies so that we could listen to the waves and loons on the lake. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools you need and a nice modern gas stove. We especially appreciated the plastic cups and plates for the kids.Outside, the beach is literally steps away from the cabin. Sandy and secluded, it very gradually gets deeper, making it perfect for swimmers of all skills and comfort levels. The water is crystal clear. Rick nicely arranged to have kayaks and PFDs available for us and we really enjoyed exploring the lake this way. We enjoyed relaxing by the fire at night, taking in beautiful sunsets and playing a lot of family games. It was a very special trip and hard to say goodbye - this is a cabin you will want to rent year after year.
