A group of friends and their families rented A Glowing View for a ski trip and had a wonderful visit. The house was layed out perfectly for our group with every family having their own bedroom, closet and bathroom. The kids enjoyed hanging out downstairs playing pool and board games. The hot tub, wood fireplace and fire pit was a great touch! The home is also nicely located between Banner Elk and Boone so we could ski and explore multiple mountains during our stay.
The only negative comment was that when we arrived late Friday evening the house did not have towels so we couldn’t bath before bed. We messaged the manager and our towels were promptly delivered the next morning. Thank you for a weekend filled with memories. We will be back!

Our experience in this incredibly spacious home was wonderful. Three couples had plenty of privacy and great space inside and out. The wrap around porch provided fantastic views and shade all day.

This house sits on a beautiful piece of property and features large, well-appointed rooms with great closet space and and functional layouts. The master suite is especially nice with a terrific view of the mountains and a beautiful bathroom design.
However, there are a few issues that I see that you wouldn't expect in a rental in this price range. The biggest issue is the lack of storage space in the kitchen area. Most of the cabinets are locked for the owners belongings which understand but makes it inconvenient for the renters. There's not enough space for organizing food, paper products, etc. The only saving grace was the large sub-zero refrigerator which was terrific. The massive fireplace in the den is awesome
Probably the other biggest concerns are the cleanliness and maintenance of some of the house and it's amenities. A couple of examples were the age of the carpet in the hallway upstairs, the need for painting or cleaning the door entering the laundry room. The blind over the kitchen sink doesn't work properly and won't grip to hold itself up so you can enjoy the best view in the house while working in the kitchen.The condition of the hot tub cover is another issue where the hooks that are suppose to hold the cover down are both routed out. One of the doors in the master bedroom is rotten at the bottom and could lead to expensive repairs in the future.
Again, the home itself is beautiful and it's clear the owners have good tastes but it's age is showing in some of the areas that haven't been updated.
For these reasons I wouldn't rent the property again as we have had better experiences in other locations in this price range.
Lastly, I'm not trying to be unkind here. I would love to own a home like this one and if II would hope my renters would give me honest feedback to help bring good renters who respect and take care of my property back for another stay.
