The Dragonflies cottage is an ecological construction for 2 to 6 people of 110 m2 in the heart of nature, in the heart of the Haut Languedoc park in Joncels near the Salagou lake, Avène, one hour from Montpellier and Béziers in Occitania.
The 4-star gîte equipped with fibre is ideal for a quiet stay, hiking and disconnection in a wild and totally preserved valley or a teleworking session.
Built according to the principles of passive architecture, the cottage gives pride of place to the large openings that embrace the outside landscape, almost erasing the boundaries between interior and exterior.
The south-facing terrace is a real balcony on nature, overlooking the river and offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest. It is a place of tranquility where the song of the water mixes with the murmur of the leaves, inviting relaxation and contemplation. A suspension bridge invites you to cross the river to a second terrace of 12 m2 perched in a tree. This outdoor space is an invitation to serenity, to live outside, to enjoy the fresh air and to reconnect with nature in all its splendour.

We enjoyed our stay and were especially pleased with the privacy of the location. Xavier was a great host and we had some conversations about life in France compared to life in the USA. This was fun for us as part of our travel was to understand and share the perspectives of different places. It is necessary to have a car to go anywhere from this location which can be a liability for those who do not like to drive on the narrow rural roads. Everything functioned well at the house and it was clean and spacious for two people. We recommend this place for those that want a rural experience as a home base for visiting a very pretty region of Languedoc.
