Just a short distance from cycling, this pet-friendly vacation home lets you experience it all. Jump into your car and make short work of the 6-minute drive to Ardennes Regional Natural Park or the 7-minute drive to Centre Culturel de Bièvre (and enjoy the property's convenient onsite parking in the meantime).

After you return, you can unwind in the garden or sip a drink on the deck or patio. As for the great indoors, you can try your hand at billiards, or enjoy the WiFi, TV, and DVD player.

This 7-bedroom, 7-bathroom rental features a living room and a BBQ grill. Prepare a home-cooked meal in the kitchen, complete with an oven, a stovetop, and a refrigerator, as well as a coffee maker, an electric kettle, and a microwave. And you won't have to pack extra clothes, because you'll also have access to laundry facilities.

There are some good and some bad things with this property. We were 14 adults and four children on this trip and we generally enjoyed the property. Although near a road, it is quiet. Pros: there are seven bedrooms, all with bathrooms and showers. This saves a lot of time and hassle with a big group and was a huge bonus. Cons: the property has beds for 20 people but is underdimensioned in many cases. The fridge is far too small (I have a bigger one at home for me and my wife), as is the BBQ. It does not have a washing machine although advertised ("you won't have to pack extra clothes, because you'll also have a washing machine"). A few other niggling things bring down the ratings, such as house instructions only in Dutch and French, a TV with no channels (you have to use your own Prime, Netflix etc accounts; beware of regional restrictions) and a sauna you have to pay extra to use (wasn't mentioned).
