About this bed and breakfast
Nestled among the rain forest trees on a 5-acre property overlooking a small lake. Relax and unwind on the large deck and soak up the sounds of nature in this peaceful and tranquil bush setting. The property is close to town, the golf course and Baroon Pocket Dam. Enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring locally sourced products before exploring the surrounding area. Let us be your home away from home!
Kookaburra is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom house providing a modern, clean and quiet living space in a garden setting. The front door opens into the open plan kitchen-dining-lounge area. The kitchen has high end appliances, with ample cupboard and stone benchtop space.
The back wall of the living area is made up of a full width window and sliding door that opens up on to the large deck overlooking the lake.
Both bedrooms have sliding door access to the deck and overlook the lake, the rain forest and macadamia tree and both have their own ensuite bathroom with large shower. Bedroom 1 has a Queen bed. Bedroom 2 has 1 x double and 1 x single bed.
There is a wood burning stove in the living area and enough wood for the cold nights in winter is provided. There are also reverse-cycle air-conditioners in the bedrooms.
* We provide some initial breakfast provisions including freshly baked bread, milk and yoghurt from Maleny's award-winning dairy and cheese factory, jam & marmalade & a selection of tea and coffee pods.
* If you require more wood, you are able to purchase from us, IGA, Woolworths and the Service Stations.
* Our property is semi-rural and is not on town water or sewerage. Our water comes from rainwater tanks, and we have a wastewater treatment plant. The house has its own tank, and the water is filtered, so perfectly safe to drink.
* Pets are allowed and we charge a pet fee. As we are semi-rural and part of a wildlife corridor, the greater property is not fenced, and all dogs are to remain on lead at all times when on the grounds. Kookaburra's back deck is fenced.
* There are pasture-fed free range chickens on the property.

A wonderful place to stay, with loads of special touches from the hosts. Handy to all the scenic sites around Maleny. Well kept cottage clean and modern, you wish for nothing. Will stay again. Loved everything about our magical stay.
