⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing stay at The New Bakehouse. The property itself was absolutely incredible - huge, modern, spotless, and genuinely perfect for our group (two couples and two dogs). It had everything we could possibly need and more. The space felt luxurious and thoughtfully designed, and we’d recommend it a million times over. The best part was simply the house. It’s massive and beautifully laid out, with plenty of room for everyone to relax without ever feeling on top of each other. The amenities were brilliant: a cosy log burner, a modern TV and sound system, a fully kitted‑out kitchen, private parking, and even some really cool tech like electric blinds and a central control system for lighting. The views from the top of the hill were stunning - looking out over Stroud and the surrounding hills was a highlight of every morning. The location was peaceful and perfect for dog walks, with lovely countryside right on the doorstep. Rodborough Common was especially beautiful, offering great views across the Cotswolds and even out towards Wales. The only thing to be aware of is that the roads in the area are narrow and very hilly, so nervous or inexperienced drivers might find them a bit challenging. It wasn’t a deal‑breaker for us, just something to note. Stroud itself wasn’t really our cup of tea, but the surrounding nature more than made up for it. The host was brilliant - helpful, supportive, and really pleasant to deal with throughout our stay. If we had to point out anything that could be improved, it would be the comfort of the beds and sofas. The beds were a bit small for two people and quite firm, and the sofas weren’t the comfiest either. But honestly, given everything else the property offers, these were very minor points and didn’t take away from how much we enjoyed our stay. Overall, The New Bakehouse is an incredible place and absolutely worth the cost. We’d definitely return - it was perfect for us.

3 nights stay with friends for a long awaited catch up. Cannot fault anything. It was spotless and all mod cons provided. Loved the layout that allowed very sociable living so no one missed out whilst cooking etc. We will definitely go back.

We booked the new bakehouse for our son’s first family holiday, they were very accommodating and supplied a travel cot, high chair and also a changing mat, they do also have a stair gate which we didn’t request due to not needing it. The location of the house and the house itself is lovely and can not fault that at all! Also the communication with Sally throughout our stay and beforehand was excellent and the welcome basket with fresh bread and croissants was a lovely touch! However, we did find that the house could have done with a little bit more cleaning, we appreciate that the house is dog friendly and we had dogs with us as well but on the first day of arrival, my son was on the carpet in the lounge and was covered in black dog fur so we had to hoover. To add to the cleaning, there was also quite a few cobwebs in the corners of the bedrooms which shocked us a little, seeing as the cleaner was due in before we checked in. We also found that the garden wasn’t very dog friendly due to it not being secure, we were able to block the access from the front of the house down the sideway with some furniture otherwise the dogs would have been able to get out and onto the road, maybe a little gate there would be better? Other than that, we did have a lovely week away with many walks near the woods that are just off of Ash lane!
