About this house rental

Welcome to The Plant at Kyle, a truly one-of-a-kind vacation home and event space where architectural brilliance meets Texas Hill Country charm. Tucked away in a peaceful, family-friendly neighborhood in Kyle, Texas, this award-winning property invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect—with nature, with loved ones, and with your sense of wonder. Whether you're planning a relaxing getaway, or a milestone celebration, The Plant at Kyle offers the perfect setting.

Originally designed by the renowned Lake|Flato Architects, this iconic home features modern industrial design infused with warm Hill Country flair. With its dramatic lines, intentional décor, and eco-conscious layout, it’s no surprise The Plant is a member of the prestigious Iconic Houses Network and a recipient of the Texas Society of Architects’ “25-Year Award.” But this isn’t just a house you’ll admire—it’s a place to live in and fall in love with.

The main home includes three thoughtfully designed bedrooms and three unique bathrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 10 guests. The upstairs master suite is filled with natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, and features a king-sized bed, twin bunk beds, and bold, colorful décor. The ensuite bathroom is a serene escape with a soaking tub, double vanity, and walk-in shower overlooking the treetops.

In the upstairs annex, Bedroom 2 offers a cozy queen bed, a charming rocking chair, and a private TV/DVD setup. Just outside, the upper-level porch with a daybed swing and seating area is perfect for slow mornings or golden hour lounging. The attached ensuite bathroom includes a spacious vanity and deep tub/shower combo—ideal for soaking, though the high step-in may be best suited for agile guests.

Bedroom 3, located on the ground floor of the annex, includes two queen beds and easy access to the home’s most industrial-style bathroom, which features a wet room shower and a distinct ship-like design. The blend of concrete and metal throughout creates a truly unique aesthetic that reflects the property's architectural roots.

The kitchen is a dream for foodies and entertainers alike. Outfitted with a commercial-grade gas range, stainless steel counters, a butcher block island, and ample dishware, it’s built to handle everything from weekend brunch to special occasions. A large elm dining table seats 10, and the great room beyond invites guests to unwind by the limestone fireplace in plush leather seating.

And then there’s the porch—the crown jewel of the property. Dubbed “the world’s largest screened-in porch,” it offers space to dine, lounge, and gather no matter the season. Enjoy firepit chats in the rocking chairs, feast at long communal tables, or simply watch the breeze roll through the oaks.

Outdoors, a steel-shaded linear pool offers the perfect cool-off after a warm Texas afternoon. Lounge poolside or find your favorite tree to nap under in a hammock. A short walking trail winds through native landscapes to a custom art installation created for the 2024 solar eclipse, adding a touch of magic to every visit.

Whether you’re here to stargaze in the Dark Sky Community, spot wildlife like deer and foxes, or just experience the stillness that only nature can provide, The Plant at Kyle is ready to host your story.

Located just 5 minutes from Hays City Store, Whiskey Ridge, and The Mean Eyed Cat, and less than 20 minutes from Wimberley and Downtown Kyle, you’re close to everything—but it feels like a world away.

Perfect for couples, families, friends, and small celebrations, The Plant at Kyle is more than a stay—it’s a destination. Let your next unforgettable memory start here.

Our stay at The Plant was wonderful — it’s the kind of place we could see ourselves booking again for a family gathering. This property is a rare find, tucked away in the peaceful Texas Hill Country. Its iconic design beautifully blends industrial architecture with warm, cozy touches that make it feel both stylish and welcoming. The layout is especially thoughtful, with a spread-out floor plan that gives guests privacy in their own unique spaces, while still offering comfortable, well-designed common areas where everyone can come together. The main house living space was nicely furnished — a perfect spot for group meals, relaxing, and staying cool. The kitchen was impressively stocked with all the utensils and appliances we needed, making it easy to cook and enjoy meals together. Outside, the covered patio area was great for playing cornhole and card games, and the pool was ideal for swimming any time of day. Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, our stay felt like a true escape to a slower-paced world where time seemed to stand still. The only issue we encountered was a discrepancy in terms of the rental policy and rules for the property - some of the information provided to us by the property management company differed from info. provided by the property owner and in details shown in rental listings online for the property. We communicated our concerns to the property management company; they listened and worked to resolve our concern.

We had a great family trip to the Plant. Kids loved the pool. It was great to hear the wind through the trees and there were a ton of birds! Could always feel a breeze. Loved the architecture and was one of the main reasons for our stay, and justified us spend more that we usually like. Could use a floorplan on the listing to help know the room set ups better. We had some senior parents with us and they needed to stay down stairs, but there was no "good bathroom set up" downstairs. There was no pictures of this bathroom either. That bathroom feels more like a "pool/utility" RR. Overall, it was a good stay and we had a great time even in July in Texas!

I rented this for our family for 4 days. Everyone had their own privacy which was great. The house was equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. The pool is huge and was a perfect touch. I would recommend staying here if you want nice, quiet, and relaxing time. Close enough to go get something if you forgot from town.
