About this apartment rental
Situated on the 3rd and last floor of an 18th century stone building, this superb and spacious duplex apartment of 135 m² offers an incredible view of the quays of Bordeaux and the Pont de Pierre. In the heart of Bordeaux, at the foot of the Porte de Bourgogne, shops and restaurants, the Richelieu offers you all the comfort for an exceptional stay in Bordeaux. Thanks to its three large bedrooms, it can comfortably accommodate 6 travellers.
Le Richelieu is fully furnished and equipped so that you only have to put down your suitcases. Thanks to its large spaces, you will enjoy all the comfort for an unforgettable stay. A few steps from all shops and transport, this apartment offers the following facilities:
- A large living room, bathed in light, with sofa, flat screen TV and dining table
- A separate kitchen fully equipped: fridge, hob, microwave and traditional oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and many kitchen utensils
- Three large bedrooms with double beds (160), one of which is a duplex
- Each room has a bathroom with Italian shower or bathtub and separate toilet.
From June 1 to September 1, 2025, major work is underway in the immediate vicinity of the home, on the Cours Alsace Lorraine and at the “Porte de Bourgogne” streetcar stop. This work on the tramway lines is totally beyond our control. We have no control over work schedules. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your understanding.
Hotel quality bed linen and towels (4/5 stars) are provided, your bed will be made on your arrival. Dishcloths and bath mats are also provided.
Naturally, Wifi is accessible and free!
A parking space at the parking "Salinières" (300 m away) is offered with the apartment. For your information, the street where is located the apartment is not accessible by car.
You will be welcomed on site in a personalized manner by a person from the Cocoonr agency in Bordeaux who will introduce you to the accommodation, answer your questions and give you the keys.
Located in a popular and lively district, on the quays, in the hyper center, 50 meters from the Saint Pierre district (Old Bordeaux), 200 meters from the Sainte Catherine street (the longest shopping street in Europe), cultural places and public and ecological transport (bicycles, scooters, scooters. . . ) . . .
Everything is there to spend a remarkable stay!!!

At the foot of the apartment, Tramway "Place de Bourgogne" stop A, C, and D will take you where you want !!

A bit of history!
The Burgundy Gate is located at the end of the former ditches of the current Saltworks Cours Victor-Hugo (former rue des Fossés) on the site of the former medieval gate of the Saltworks. It marks the official entrance to the city on the old road leading to Paris. Tourny wanted it to be an accompaniment for the Place Royale (now Place de la Bourse) and consecrated it to Prince Monseigneur the Duke of Burgundy on 24 January 1757. It was for a time the Porte Napoléon to celebrate the Emperor's arrival in Bordeaux in 1808.

I stayed at Le Richelieu for five days in October 2024. The apartment was perfect for me and my two friends, it was nice to have a bedroom and bathroom each. The kitchen was great for cooking and the living room was spacious with a fantastic view of the river. The apartment is steps away from the tram stop which was very convenient especially since the stop is in the airport route; however, the tram rings its bell each time it arrives and leaves and runs from 5AM to 1AM every day. The apartment is in a great location for sight seeing, shopping and restaurants. Our favourites in the neighbourhood included Sweeney Todd’s pub, Frog & Rosbif craft brewery and Ragazzi da Peppone restaurant. One thing to note that was not in the VRBO description is that the apartment does not have a lift so you have to climb 200+ stairs which is not possible for travellers with mobility issues. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and the service we received when checking in and out.

Le Richelieu "This apartment is located close to the heart of Bordeaux, everything is within walking distance - great for exploration of a beautiful city. It is comfortable and matches the photos in the listing, some of the furniture in the rooms could do with a little freshen up, but overall if this is only acting as a base for your stay in Bordeaux it's perfect.
We found our check in host to be responsive and timely, he was able to provide all the information that we needed and contrary to other reviews he said on check out it was fine if the dishes are in the dishwasher and clean (don't have to be put way), provided we had also taken out the rubbish.
If you are looking to spend a few days and nights exploring Bordeaux you can't go far wrong with this well located and comfortable apartment."

Le Richelieu The flat is beautiful, as described. It’s centrally located but in a dodgy neighborhood. What we disliked is the fact that we pay a lot for cleaning and the day we left we got a message with rules to follow before we leave ie., empty the garbage bin, it’s not enough that the dishes are washed, they need to be put on their spot and so on….Also as mentioned there is not enough hot water and the dishwasher does not wash properly. Besides these details, the flat is great!
