Hood adventures. This centrally located retreat offers easy access to skiing, golfing, fishing, and hiking, making it the perfect basecamp for your outdoor getaway.
The Space:
- Just 55 min away from Portland
- Almost an acre on the river with a private beach for fishing & making a fire
- House has neighbors, not completely secluded
- Close to amenities and shopping
- 15 min to ski bowl
- 10 min to resort golfing
- Sit in hot tub while listening to the river
- BBQ and eat dinner from the elevated deck
- Fire pit by the house and down by the river
- Well stocked kitchen

- Large jetted bath tub

- Almost an acre on the river! With a private beach for fishing and making a fire. The cabin sits above the river quite a bit. There are several steps down to the private beach.

Located just off Highway 26, you'll have easy access to a variety of shopping options and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation. While the home isn't secluded, its prime location provides a unique advantage. Enjoy the serene beauty of the river, with private access available via a series of steps. Explore the local area and discover the charm of Rhododendron, Oregon, where you can immerse yourself in nature and create lasting memories.
Getting Around:
While a car is recommended, public transportation is available. A bus route provides access to Government Camp and Timberline Lodge, with a walk of approximately one mile to the property. Please note that taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are limited in this area.
Other Things to Note:
- The Chalet does not have A/C (air conditioning), but we do have multiple box fans and ceiling fan to circulate air.
- During the winter there is a possibility of snow. 4x4 and higher clearance vehicles are recommended. Driveway is fairly level, but not plowed.
- There are many stairs to access the river, use at your own risk.
- There is potential to see deer, bears and other wildlife.

Really cozy stay with access to the river! Kids loved the ping pong, foosball and dart. Relaxing under the trees in the hottub during a cold evening was wonderful.

Our family really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The steps and pathway to the river were fun and beautiful. We sat on the rocks and put our feet in the cold water! Since we were in town for a long trail race at Mt Hood. The hot tub was crucial recovery afterward. Towels were provided and easy instructions to clean the tub afterward. We were able to grill a nice dinner and eat on the porch and listen to the river rushing. So peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and fans were provided in each room for cool air flow at night. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table, and it was helpful to have laundry availability. All the amenities!We will definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Joe was super responsive. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
