The Wheelhouse is a one of a kind property located on piling above Pier 11 with 360 degree views of the Megler Bridge. Astoria Column, Astoria’s Hilltop Homes and the Columbia River! You will think you are in a houseboat as you hear foghorns and watch pilot boats pass right by your windows. Watch 100’s of ships moving up the mighty Columbia as you are warm and cozy in your charming suite in front of your fireplace! Living room sofa makes into a double bed.

The Wheelhouse is a beautifully designed and decorated property on the Columbia River. Everything is new, practical and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the town as the trolley passed just behind us. The Bar Pilot boats and large container ships passed directly in front of our unit. There is a bakery directly below the unit, so convenient. We were a couple traveling with our niece and her adult daughter. The bathrooms were well designed for the four of us; 1 shower room and 2 powder rooms. A very efficient use of space. I deducted one star for location because if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. This unit is in a commercial area of Astoria, there is a lot of early morning activity. The unit is fairly well insulated, keeping the window shut helps with the noise. Other than that, the communication with the host, Karen, instructions for AC/fireplace/WiFi etc well explained and the unit charming.

We were in Astoria for a family wedding and this property was such an amazing experience! The location, decor, stunning views and comfort were all great. On Friday evening a group of family members had dinner across the street and afterwards we were able to relax and visit together at the rental. It worked out wonderfully. Karen was very good at responding to any questions we had. You won’t regret your decision to rent here. My family thinks I’m a rock star for finding it! Lol

Loved! Gorgeous home and views. Appreciated the small touches throughout and the spotting scope! Had everything we needed. Karen was amazing to communicate with. Really enjoyed our stay.
