About this cabin rental
The Space
Located on 66 acres of rolling farmland and wooded countryside, this restored log cabin - built circa 1855 - is rustic but not the least bit primitive. A massive stone fireplace makes relaxing in the winter cozy. Enjoy your morning coffee with a beautiful view of Ohio farmland from the screened-in porch. Jump into the outdoor shower or hot tub after a day of hiking or shopping in nearby Yellow Springs. Centrally located, the Cabin is just 20 minutes from Dayton and 50 minutes from Columbus.
This 19th century log cabin - original to the property - was dismantled and restored in 1989. Various updates over the years keep the Cabin fresh without compromising its rustic qualities.
Guest Access
The Cabin is located on a working farm where we raise hay and Corriente cattle. Guests may walk the property, enjoy the hot tub located a few yards from the Cabin and fish in the catch-and-release pond. Sarah provides charcoal, lighter fluid and a retro Weber kettle grill for outside cooking. The fire pit nearby is a fun place to roast marshmallows and tell stories.
Two bicycles on site are available for guests who want to ride the Ohio to Erie bike trail, which is just a mile from the farm entrance.

The Cabin is a homey, comfortable place — nothing fussy, nothing untouchable. We expect you to put your feet up, take a deep breath and relax while you’re there.

Our Christmas stay was absolutely beautiful, and we truly didn’t want to leave. The cabin felt like a dream, and Sara was such a wonderful, personable host who made us feel right at home. The three of us kept saying we could happily live in this cabin forever. It was a magical Christmas we will never forget, and we’re already hoping to make this a new holiday tradition for our little family.
