Overall this was an easy stay at Perdido. The property has a very nice view. The outdoor pool is pretty and lends an easy walk to the beach. The room itself is comfortable for a group of four. I’ve experienced several rooms in this building, and comparatively this unit needs some love. The appliances are older, the coffee pot has a burn ring and flickers on and off, and the beds and furniture are worn and squeaky. These are all easy updates that can be addressed to give the room new life and make it feel like an upscale beach vacation. One thing I did not address with Beach Colony is during windy weather the hurricane shutters make a loud and long rattling that can be heard throughout the unit. Not an issue during calm weather, but we had extreme wind and I was worried the cases of the shutters were going to blow off in the middle of the night. The wind also kept blowing over the balcony furniture. In conclusion, the room is nice but needs some updates addressed in order to bring it back to life.

This unit is in great condition. It is very clean, and everything you need is available. Check-in was different because I had to check in and out at a different location than the unit, but it was flawless, and the group was friendly. It was a quiet rental, and the view was amazing. The only flaw I can think of is not having screens on the sliding door to the balcony, but being up so high, it was not a problem. I do recommend checking out the chair and umbrella rental before your stay; it is reasonable. I had difficulty watching my kiddos because I wasn't in the first row, so I will rent ahead of time next time. The Beach Colony staff is excellent, especially the beach helpers. They are very accommodating and informative about the beach and the surrounding area.
