"La casa di Marcello" is a nice independent apartment located in the main street of Torre Annunziata, a small town on the slopes of Vesuvius which is only 4 kilometers from Pompeii, 18 from Naples and 20 from Sorrento. Its location is functional, perfect for those who plan to visit the archaeological wonders of the Campania region: thanks to the Circumvesuviana train (the station is 500 meters from the house) you can reach in a few minutes Ercolano, Sorrento, Pompeii, Naples and others enchanting places that lie between the Gulf of Naples and that of Sorrento.
The house is located on the first floor, inside a small private courtyard, and can be reached thanks to a flight of steps of piperno, a characteristic magmatic rock used for the houses of the last century. The historical charm of the architecture of the past meets the modern and functional furnishing of the apartment which consists of all the necessary comforts: Wi-Fi line with fiber optic, 32-inch HD TV, kitchen, air conditioning, double bed, bathroom with shower and bathtub. In addition, climbing another flight of stairs outside you can take advantage of a terrace and a relaxing environment from which you can enjoy the enchanting landscape that goes from Naples to Sorrento.
Accommodation and the city. it is located in the lively center of the city of Torre Annunziata, a strip of land between sea and Vesuvius which was a rich Roman suburb of ancient Pompeii. Its ancient name Oplontis gives its name to the archaeological excavations of the UNESCO heritage (800 meters away from the house), the Scavi di Oplonti that host the famous Villa di Poppea. This was one of the many Roman holiday villas built during that period, given the swimming area (it is famous the black sand beach of volcanic origin) and rich in thermal baths (there is still a spa complex 500 meters from the house). Torre Annunziata is a treasure of history but also of traditions and here was born the so-called White Art, the school of master pasta makers universally recognized as the best in the world: even today you can eat pasta in the city's various restaurants (all near the house) Setaro (sold in any continent). In addition to this, our territory offers the opportunity to taste the most varied gastronomic delicacies, from vegetables and wine typical of Vesuvius to seafood cuisine, the essential element that gives beauty and richness to our coasts. On the other hand, the writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was delighted by the panorama and the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of our places: in our city he wrote in his famous book 'Viaggio in Italia': «We had lunch at Torre Annunziata with the table prepared by the sea.
All those were happy to live in those places, some said that without the sight of the sea it would be impossible to live. It is enough for me to have that image remain in my spirit. "

The area is stunning and we were so looked after. Nunzio your family are lovely and the taxi gentleman you referred us to was a gift. We will certainly be back. x

Nunzio was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make us feel welcome, even collecting us from the airport. The property was very clean and comfortable, our only criticism would be that the details list 2 bedrooms but in fact there is only a sofa bed in the main living /kitchen area and a double bed on a mezzanine floor above, so for 4 adults it was a bit cramped with no privacy!
The garden is lovely, but we were disappointed with the swimming pool - it was more like a plunge paddling pool - tiny!!
However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a good location to visit the sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and beautiful Sorrento and Capri. The views from the roof terrace were wonderful!
