A saltwater pool with a Cabo deck and a built-in hot tub are set right among them, and three propane fire pits mean there is always a warm seat. Lounge on the Cabo deck by day, cook outside as the light fades, then choose your fire. Two bedrooms in the house and a primary suite in its own casita. The rocks set the mood here.



The Space:

Bolder House sits in a private, boulder-filled setting in Joshua Tree, designed by Wolfgang and Connie Pichler. Outside, a saltwater pool with a Cabo deck, a built-in hot tub, three propane fire pits and generous seating make the most of the rocks and views. Two bedrooms in the main house share a bathroom off the living room, and the primary suite, with its own ensuite, sits in a detached casita right by the front door. It works well for couples traveling together or a small family who want to spend their days among the rocks. Three fire pits, so nobody has to share.

-Outdoor Amenities-

The saltwater pool has a Cabo deck, a shallow ledge for lounging in the water, and the built-in hot tub sits close by for evening soaks. Three propane fire pits are spread around the property, with plenty of outdoor seating among the boulders. A private patio, an outdoor dining patio and a propane BBQ make it easy to spend the whole day outside. The property is not fully fenced; the last listing photo shows the property boundary.



-Living Area-

The main house centers on a living area with the two main-house bedrooms just off it. Heating and air conditioning keep it comfortable year-round.



-Kitchen and Dining-

The kitchen has the cooking basics, dishes and silverware you need for meals in, and the propane BBQ and outdoor dining patio are right outside.



-Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Two bedrooms in the main house sit just off the living room and share a bathroom. The third bedroom is the primary suite in the casita, which is detached from the main house but right next to the front door, with its own ensuite bathroom.



-Surrounding Area-

Joshua Tree Village has cafés, shops and galleries, and Joshua Tree National Park is there for the days. Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown and La Copine make good nights out.



Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.



The Neighborhood:

Bolder House is in a private, boulder-filled area of Joshua Tree, minutes from the village and the national park. Cell phone coverage is spotty.



Below are travel times to nearby shops, bars, eateries and attractions:

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



The roads to Bolder House are dirt. Four-wheel drive is not necessary; just take it slow.



Other Things to Note:

-Property Boundary-

Please look at the last photo of the listing, which shows the boundary of the property.



-House-Specific Rules-

► Please keep music at a reasonable volume and turn it off by the start of quiet hours.

► No fee to heat the hot tub! Please rinse off before and after using the hot tub, and keep the lid on to keep out dirt and hold in heat. Absolutely no glass near the water.

► Weddings and events are by inquiry only and are subject to permits and applicable law.



-Pool Heating Fee-

Should you wish to have the pool heated to 85 degrees, please notify us in advance of your arrival, as there will be a supplemental charge per day for this service due to high fuel costs in this area. If you'd like the pool heated for multiple days, we ask that days be consecutive to conserve energy, thank you! Pool heating is not usually necessary May through September. Please note that we will need at least 24 hours' notice to heat the pool.



► $350 for the first day and $200 for the second day



During the winter months, please be aware that colder outdoor temperatures may cause the pool to feel cooler than its maintained temperature of 85°F. We kindly ask that you ensure this temperature meets your comfort level before submitting a request, as refunds cannot be issued on this basis.



-Pool and Hot Tub Service-

The pool and hot tub are serviced Mondays and Thursdays, approximately between 9am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.



-Pet Policy-

We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation how many dogs you are bringing. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Wildlife & Safety-

The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it's important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.



-Security Camera-

For your security, there is one exterior camera facing the driveway, which monitors vehicles and occupancy. There are no cameras inside the home, in the back of the property or facing any private areas, including the pool and hot tub areas.



-Cell Service-

Cell phone reception at the property is limited and varies by carrier. Wi-Fi is available.



-Damage Waiver Policy-

Each reservation requires either a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
