Magical evenings with the night sky often filling with stars, making stargazing a favorite ~ fun guide with ideas on what to look for in the sky. Cows are often seen grazing in nearby pastures. For safety and respect for the animals, please do not enter the fenced pastures or attempt to feed them.
Guests enter through the side door located across from the garage using the digital lock system. Access code will be the last four digits of the phone number used when making the reservation. Wide walkway, excellent lighting, and plenty of parking for guests. We simply ask that vehicles not be parked on the front lawn, the grass in the inner circle, or in the backyard.
One of the highlights of staying here is the easy access to several charming Virginia towns ~ Madison,Orange, Gordonsville, Culpeper, and Charlottesville. All filled with local shops, wineries, restaurants, and outdoor adventures. The nearby town of Madison offers wonderful destinations such as Early Mountain Vineyard, Prince Michel Winery, Bald Top Brewing Company, Madison Livestock Exchange, Plow & Hearth, Kite’s Ham, and Yoder’s Market, which even features a petting zoo. Short drive to Woodberry Forest School (4mi), Commonwealth Park (15mi) and UVA (33mi). Explore the Old Rag Mountain, located about 25 miles away, as well as White Oak Canyon Trail, Shenandoah National Park via the Swift Run Gap entrance, Luray Caverns, and the year-round recreation opportunities offered at Massanutten Resort. Lots of information and local recommendations to discover nearby gems and favorite spots are found at the cottage.
