For nature lovers, house 2 pers bungalow in Cauterets

This was exactly what we wanted. Well-equipped accomodation with fantastic mountain views (weather permitting ;-)). A short walk to an interesting town and an easy drive to other places of interest such as the Cirque de Gavarnie. Odile was charming and helpful (especially carrying our bags up the track in her quadbke and trailer)!

The view from the balcony was great and the people were so nice! From that apartment you can go by car to several places to have wonderful hikes. The apartment was very clean and decorated with love. I would definitely come back!

What a great place! We felt very at home in this comfortable accommodation. Superb views all around. It was just perfect for us. A very natural location that the hosts have maintained with butterflies, birds and bees aplenty. The owners also have goats and a donkey. Great. The gite is very well equipped and so peaceful. The property is situated right on the edge of town, so is lovely and quiet. The views of the valley and mountains opposite are breath-taking. The walk into town only takes about 15 minutes but there is a free bus service close by or from nearby Intersport (which you would need to drive to if you are on a Winter holiday). The chalet is very cosy and warm and slept 2 adults and 2 young boys (on the settee/divan) very comfortably. Odile and her husband made us most welcome and live next door so are there to assist if need be. The bathroom, shower and kitchen areas were clean and tidy and provided everything we needed for the few days we stayed. The chalet made a wonderful base for our three days of skiing The boys had never skied on snow before and Cauteret provided several easy 'green' runs for them to learn on. Because everyone has to take the Cable Cars to the ski area, it was busy going up every morning, whatever time you went. However, once you were up in the ski area, Inermediate and Advanced skiers had a good selection of pistes to take, without having to come down to the busier main area, which is predominated by Beginners. On the third day the two boys were able to take a chair lift up the slopes, with their parents, and ski down one of the 'Blue' runs and enjoy the scenery from one of the Bars/Cafes. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days in Cauteret and would recommend both the chalet and the resort especially to young families. Bon journee.
