About this cottage rental

Appletree is in the quiet Lakeside village of Portinscale (just outside Keswick) and has some fabulous views of the surrounding fells with local access to lakeshore and marinas.

On the ground floor there is a large open plan lounge, dining/kitchen area with patio doors out onto a paved patio area and enclosed garden. The lounge has two, three seater settees, an easy chair, TV, DVD, CD player and an open fire (ideal for a cosy night in). The kitchen is well fitted and has fridge, freezer, double fan oven and gas hob, dishwasher, microwave etc. Off the kitchen there is a small pantry for food storage.

On the ground floor there is a large bedroom with Smart TV and zip/link beds which as standard is made up as a super king size bed but can be made up as two single beds (there is a £15 charge for this). Also on this floor there is a fully tiled shower room with large drench shower,WC and wash basin.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, is nicely furnished and has lovely views towards the fells. Off this room is a fully tiled en-suite shower room with drench shower, WC and wash hand basin (with underfloor heating to the tiled floor during the winter months). The twin room is spacious and has Smart TV, two single beds wardrobe, drawers, dressing table etc. and again has fabulous views towards the fells. The fourth bedroom has a double bed and looks out towards Skiddaw. This room is offered at £50 for a short break and £75 for a full week. All bedrooms are beautifully dressed with luxury linen and towels.

The fully tiled bathroom has a bath ( which can be turned into a Jacuzzi Bath at an additional charge if requested) separate curved shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin.

The house also benefits from a fantastic multi-purpose garage/utility space, with plenty of room to securely store bikes, kayaks etc. as well as hanging space for walking gear, a washer/dryer, and there's even a hot or cold dog wash so your canine companion can get squeaky clean before heading inside to get comfortable after a day out exploring!

To the outside there is an enclosed garden and patio with table, chairs & parasol. Please be aware this property is not suitable for hot tub hire.

There will be no need to worry about parking as the property has a large private driveway.

This was my second one week stay at Appletree this year and we loved it just as much as the first. It’s such a great location. The house is spacious and has lovely views. Would stay again every year.

This was our third stay at Appletree ,four adults two children and a dog .Having three bathrooms is a huge bonus (no queuing).The secure garden is ideal for our dog ,and a nice area to sit out after a long day walking , with the addition this year of a parasol especially as this year we were there during a heat wave .We find appletree to be a spacious well equipped and very clean property situated in a quiet location, it has also been newly decorated, Our two grand-daughters especially love kayaking at nearby Nicole’s end also only a short walk into Keswick with all its many amenities , I would not hesitate to recommend this property

The property is of a real high standard and the Portinscale location is a perfect being quiet but Keswick is walkable. The property does not leave you wanting as it provides everything one would need for a holiday. Highly recommended.

We could not have found a better place for our family reunion - three couples and a small dog. It is a lovely property with a great layout and three bathrooms. There is a wrap around garden which catches the sun at different times of the day for a sit /eat out (weather permitting). Over and above the description!

We had a very comfortable stay at Appletree. The property is well located with easy access to Keswick and Derwent Water. Appletree is very well equipped with plenty of crockery, glasses etc. The afternoon and evening sun hit the table and chairs in the garden making it very relaxing for an evening drink! Lovely holiday home!

Family of four adults staying for five nights. We loved this spacious home from home accommodation in a perfect location, within walking distance into Keswick. Brilliant views over surrounding hills. Hot showers and plenty of storage space in the garage for bikes etc. We were blessed with fantastic weather too. Would highly recommend and would stay again.

What could be better than spending Christmas in The Lakes" !!! The property supplied everything we needed for the festive season. The fridge freezer provided fridge space in addition to the under the counter fridge, which was perfect for storing all the extra beer, wine and food that is associated with Christmas Well done once again Keswick Cottages
