Step into the extraordinary at Camp Karibu, one of the few remaining historic cottages of the former Lake Placid Club, reinvented as a 6,000 sq ft luxury retreat with panoramic mountain views. Nestled on the 45-hole golf course, this four-level Adirondack lodge is just a 2-minute walk to Mirror Lake and 5-minutes on foot from the vibrant shops and restaurants of Lake Placid village.
Inside you’ll discover a chef’s dream kitchen — with a six-burner gas range, espresso & coffee station within the butler’s pantry and fully stocked with spices, cookware, all the essentials and beyond. Or grill on our deck while taking in full mountain views. Enjoy meals in the formal dining room, or better yet, on our screened, rustic dining porch.
Camp Karibu offers two elegant living areas, an oversized game room (ping-pong, foosball, board games, cornhole, badminton) and a seasonal enclosed sleeping porch that feels like being in a tree house. Newly installed A/C on the main level & in primary bedroom suite, and a large gas fireplace in the living room.
Five bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths span four floors. Bedroom on the lower level offers driveway access, easier access for guests with mobility challenges. Lodge includes two king suites, one king bedroom & queen bedroom that share a connecting full bath and one bedroom with two twin beds (see layout in pictures). All bedrooms include high-end linens, additional blankets and a variety of pillows to choose from. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other necessities are provided, with extras in the linen closet.
Designed for year-round adventure, Camp Karibu comes with sleds and lake floats, a fire-pit overlooking the golf course, radiant floor heat throughout, smart TVs & high-speed WiFi. Camp Karibu is proudly family-friendly, and bring your dog, they’re welcome too.

Wonderful home! It was well appointed, and the location was great-walking distance to downtown and the Olympic Museum.Megan and Scott thought of everything we could’ve needed, and they were a pleasure to deal with.We enjoyed the fire pit, cooked one night on the grill, and played board games, ping pong, and foosball.The only reason I put in 4 stars on the location rating is because VRBO wouldn’t let me proceed with 5 stars in that category for some reason.Everyone slept well and had a great time. We hope to go back to Lake Placid and this home again.

We had a wonderful stay. Central location to all that Lake Placid has to offer. We highly recommend this expansive and well appointed home on beautiful golf course and mountain panorama our of multi level picture windows and multi level decks and screened-in porches.
