A real gem for a quiet stay near the sea.Our stay: 2 weeks at the start of Oct 2025.A bungalow attached to others in a beautiful, small complex between the coast road & sea. Beach is 2 mins' walk from front door. Complex is really quiet & peaceful in Oct; just a handful of people & no immediate neighbours. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the sun on the patio looking out to sea.Inside a rustic feel - this works well - even in Oct when the temp was in the low 20's and we mostly lived outside. It has all the amenities that we needed & all worked (except for a couple of days without internet - down everywhere locally). Kitchen had utensils for the simple meals that we made (and many more besides).We were greeted by the owner's parents - lovely & very helpful (my wife speaks excellent Italian; more of a challenge if we spoke only English?)Tropea has many restaurants - we really enjoyed Vecchio Granaio in the old town.Tips:• Bring insect repellent - lovely olive trees attract some (no loads) midges.• Bring car: coast road not great for walking, even to Parghelia. However, Tropea is 10mins in the car, Parghelia even less.• Electrical switches are randomly located. Not an issue, except when we first arrived it took a few WhatsApp messages with owner before we discovered we had mixed up the cooker on/off & kettle on/off switch.• Tourist tax is 1.5/person/night &, like in many hotels, is not inclusive - keep a few to leave on the kitchen table at the end

THE WHOLE FAMILY IS FANTASTIC, WOULD LOVE TO REMAIN FRIENDS.
