About this chalet rental
Tidal House offers a convenient location and a cozy atmosphere. This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window!
We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions.
Tidal House is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point.
During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet.
Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window!
This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time.
Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit.
Expecting visitors?
Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units.
STEEP STAIRCASE
Please note that the staircase in this unit is very steep. Guests must use the handrail when going up the stairs.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
Please be aware that the main sleeping area is on the 2nd level, with the bathroom on the 1st level.
This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals and is part of a vacation rental duplex in a chalet-style building. The chalet includes 1 king bed in an open-concept loft at the top of the stairs. Additionally, the couch on the 1st floor is a sofa queen bed.
WINDOWS / VIEWS
Please note that right outside the chalet is a break area for hotel next door that you can see from the window. You can close the blinds for privacy. Even with the blinds closed the chalet gets a lot of light due high ceilings and windows.
At night there is some street light that be seen in the unit. Upstairs we have some curtains to help darken the space for sleeping.
FIREPLACE NOTE
The fireplace is not functioning, but we have electric candles (with a remote) that provide a nice ambiance.
KITCHEN
The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, microwave, and full size refrigerator + freezer. Guests are required to wash all dishes they use, as there is not a dishwasher.
DUPLEX
Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest.

RIDE SHARE
Uber is available in Ocean Shores.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs.
NO PARTIES
We ask that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours after 10 pm.
FIRES
We currently do not allow bonfires on the property.
SAND
We also suggest removing shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet.
ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.
DAMAGE
Any damage caused during your stay will be charged to you. Smoking of any kind (including vaping) is not allowed inside the chalets. A $250 fee will be applied if a guest smokes indoors.
Please note that this Chalet does not have a microwave.

Nice cabins. Bed comfortable, well kept. It is a bit of a walk to beach l, may be rough if you have kids but wanst too bad. It is nice the trails to left of property takes you to a no car area. Only problems I ran into was sheets were a little dirty and keypad to get in didnt work. Fortunately owner responded quickly which was appreciated. If you have a pick for cabins #1 is not as private, faces another hotel.

The property was great, the stairs are very difficult to go down but with the size of the chalet I can understand why it is the way it is. Parking was right outside our door which was nice when unloading and loading the car. When we first got there, the room was very warm, but after opening both the upstairs and downstairs windows it cooled off pretty quickly. We saw several deer walk by our window which was fun to watch. We had no issue with noise, even though there were people staying in the chalet attached to ours. According to the listing there was candles to accommodate for the fact the fireplace did not work, however there was no candles, not a big deal just would have been nice. I liked having Hulu to watch and that there was free wifi. The dish soap was kind of odd, felt like I couldn't get it off my hands no matter how much I scrubbed them. Bathroom was clean. Towels were provided, along with extra bedsheets if we needed them. The walk to the beach was sort of confusing, as there were several trails going in every direction and finding your way back was difficult. Nothing to do with the chalet, just something to know. There were snacks and tea/coffee provided, but we were unsure if we would get charged for them so we did not take anything. I recommend if they're complimentary, to leave a note or mention it in the listing. People did walk by the windows a few times, but there is black out curtains which helped with privacy. Overall we had a nice time at this location.

This was a very cute chalet, it was clean and provided everything needed for the stay. Communication was great for check in and check out. It was great to be within walking distance of the beach and restaurants/shops.
My one complaint was the temperature control. It was freezing cold when I arrived and it took a good 4 hours of blasting all the heaters before it was comfortable. But getting a comfortable temperature on the ground floor meant that the upstairs was really hot. There was also a definite draft around the doors and windows. To be fair, I was there during a wind & rain storm, and I'm sure during normal weather it would be fine, but the fact that I was always too cold or too hot put a dent in the enjoyment of my stay.
