Winetrail Cabin - SIU, Giant City SP, Shawnee Forest, & Cedar Lake minutes away!

We enjoyed our stay at the well outfitted cabin near the Shawnee Wine Trail. Cabin is conveniently located near Giant City State Park and the lodge restaurant.

The location is perfect!! We were able to meet our son from siu and enjoy hiking and the great deck here. You are by other cabins but have plenty of privacy. We appreciated a fully stocked kitchen to cook. Will book again.

Before the visit communication for check in was great. The cabin was clean, nice, had plenty of space and was well appointed. Everything we needed as far as cooking, grill, plates, cups, etc were all there. Location was great for hiking trails, winery visits, and getting into campus in Carbondale. We brought 2 dogs and the space was excellent for them, with a side deck that we could let them into without having to worry about them!

This is a very basic place. The negatives were that the couch had a terrible smell, something sprayed on it, so we couldn't sit on it. There wasn't a bedside table for my side of the bed. The bed made a LOUD screechy sound every time you turned over. There were NO HANGERS in the place except children's. I had a conference to go to, and couldn't hang up my clothes. The apartment needed airing when we got there. Had a close musty smell. The bathroom was TINY and had no plastic shower curtain, so the floor needed to be mopped after showering. The quality of the toilet paper was terrible. However, everything worked and the kitchen was very workable and there was a nice outdoor porch.
