Old Town Monrovia Hot Tub Retreat

The house was exactly what we needed. For a family of 6 with a newborn. We weren’t able to find the pack and play so the host hand delivered a new pack and play that night.

We stayed here while in town for a family funeral and truly appreciated how clean, comfortable and charming the house was. The beds were very cozy, the home was well stocked with everything we needed, and the central location made it easy to get around. A lovely place to stay - thank you!

We were extremely happy with this house and host. We were in town for a wedding, and the location was convenient to all the places we needed to go that week - Pasadena, Disneyland, Venice Beach. The area was super walkable, with many restaurants and shops close by and friendly neighbors. A huge plus for our adult family group of 9 was that all 3 bathrooms were separate from bedrooms, so easy to share them. Beds were comfortable. The house was large, very clean, and exceptionally well-supplied, far beyond just "starter" quantities. There was even a welcome gift! The backyard was fabulous for outdoor meals and hanging out, such a peaceful environment, with views of the hills. Our sons also loved the hot tub. The host was easy to contact and communicate with, and highly responsive when a minor issue came up on our last night. She handled it quickly and completely. I would recommend this house and host without hesitation.

Property was not fully clean. For example, we found old food on the floor, especially under the furniture. House is oddly laid out and the floors change height or have transition strips frequently, making it difficult for older folks and toddlers to navigate. Tables and floors had not been cleaned, either. Sounds travel throughout the home, making it challenging to have multiple people there who WFH.Many broken window blinds. Cabinets were well-marked and house was well stocked with paper towels and misc. provisions.Convenient location.Not particularly well-maintained. Could use to be updated.It was difficult to park two cars in the driveway due to the placement of the rear yard gate and the garbage/refuse containers. Had to listen to the neighbors shouting profanities at one another one night after 2 a.m.Hot tub seemed to run constantly, even though we never used it.No instruction book was to be found at the house, making it difficult to figure out appliances, light switches, hva/c units, wi-fi, etc. This made for a poor and sometimes uncomfortable visit in many regards.Mailbox had old mail crammed into it from many months ago and there was no place for any mail sent to us to be left by the postman.Some windows were also cracked. Some windows were unlocked and open when we arrived.
