Honestly, I would rate this a 4.5 stars if I were able to. The location is fantastic. You can get to almost anywhere in Rome in under 30 minutes walking. We found some great restaurants in the neighborhood and absolutely loved the area. The only reason I am downgrading it just a touch is for two reasons. First, you have to understand that there are many levels of steps to climb to get to the apartment. If you have any mobility issues or are unsteady on your feet, or even aren't in the best shape, the steps might be a challenge for you. There were definitely a couple of nights where we relied on the handrail more after a long day exploring Rome :-)The second is pretty minor and not really an issue with the apartment per se. We stayed at the end of July and it was particularly hot in Rome when we were there. The first day we were there it took the wall mounted AC unit a while to cool things down to make it more comfortable. By the second day, we were pretty good to go. So keep in mind that if you are unused to the extreme Rome, heat and humidity in the middle of the summer, you'll just need to give it some time to cool off so it's more comfortable. A decent sized fan for the apartment would have definitely helped with sleep the first night. All in all, a very nice day and would recommend.

We were very pleased with this unit. Hard to beat the location and the proximity to local shops and restaurants in the area. The host was able to meet us at our check-in time and showed us the property details which was helpful, even allowing us to drop off our bags while the unit was being cleaned.Beds were comfortable enough and everything in the unit seems to function as expected. I definitely recommend this location and would stay again on a return visit.

Our family spent a few nights in this property at the outset of our vacation. The property was good overall but very basic. There was a lack of overall supplies that we have become accustomed to at other VRBOs we have rented. Paper towels, hand towels, dish towels, hand soaps etc. were lacking. We worried about running out of toilet paper for our two-night stay. A little more would have gone a long way. The hot water in the shower was only warm at best, and the AC took the edge off the heat but didn't cool the unit as one would normally expect. (Outside temperatures were in the mid-30s C in fairness) There was a laundry machine but no dryer which precluded us from doing laundry. The check-in process was manual and we had to wait 15 minutes outside to meet a property representative, but they were very helpful and nice when they arrived. Automation would be nice but likely very difficult given the age and nature of the building. The stairs to the unit were difficult with luggage, I would not recommend it for someone with limited fitness although the unit's representative was more than happy to assist. The pullout couch could be replaced with something a bit more comfortable. The location was excellent and the unit served our needs while in Rome. A few little extras from the host would go a long way. This unit is ultimately a question of value and price. If it's price competitive for basic accommodations then it may be a good option.
