About this apartment rental

If you are looking for a unique and authentic experience of history, arts, culture and literature, here is where you want to be.
It's like to live in a living museum with all the latest comforts of the XXI Century.

The apartment, on the second floor, is located in the the historic center and is part of a 16th century palace, still belonging to the same princely family who built it.

THE SPACE
The apartment is composed by two double-bedrooms (king-size beds), dining room &living room, bathroom (bath tub and shower), fully furnished kitchen.

The apt is served by a portable 9,000 BTU A/C unit and fans.

Parking space inside the building upon request and for a little extra per-day.

The apartment is in an area very well linked to everywhere (2 subways, 5 bus-lines and taxi rank) and offers many touristic attractions (Greek Hipogea of 4th century B.C.; Sacrarium of Fontanelle; Saint Gaudioso and Saint Gennaro's Catacombs; and many aristocratic palaces and important churches).

In five minutes walk, you can reach Naples' Cathedral, with the priceless Saint Gennaro's treasure; and the National Museum of Archaeology, with the finest pieces of Pompei and the wonderful Farnese's Collection.

GUEST ACCESS
Our staff will be welcoming you at your arrival, showing you around and available for any request you may have during your staying.

OTHER THING TO NOTE
By appointment only, it's possible to visit the Prince's apartment, composed by several reception rooms, a huge ballroom with 18th century frescoes on the ceiling and a splendid 18th century chandelier, a very important library with 16th - 17th - 18th century books, in which rooms the princely family regularly organizes cultural events as concerts, theater exhibitions and debates.

On these occasions, and especially by night, some ghosts belonging to the family have appeared and seemed to enjoy very much to be in company. :-)

Furthermore, our Palace and its various apartments, including this one, have been a film set for important films and TV series, including, just to mention a few:
- "M son of the century" by Joe Wright (2022)
- "Mixed by Herry" by Sidney Sibilia (2022)
- "Ripley - the series" by Steven Zaillian (2022)
- "Nostalgia" by Mario Martone (2021)
- "Sono solo fantasmi" by Christian de Sica (2021)
- "I fratelli de Filippo" by Sergio Rubini (2020)
- "Gomorrah - the series" by Stefano Sollima & Francesca Comencini (2020)
- "The Jackal - the series" by Francesco Capaldo (2017)

A large comfortable apartment in a fascinating part of Naples. As stated in other reviews, the street outside is very noisy with people, scooters, a busy restaurant and traffic. We had good earplugs as we needed them! But we loved watching the street from the window. We had a really interesting tour of Paula's apartment next door with it's ball room and libraries. The apartment was a ten minute walk from the archeological museum and a 15-20 minute walk from the centro storico. There were fascinating churches, catacombs, stairways and streets right on the doorstep. We loved our 10 day stay here.

Francesco was excellent. So nice and accommodating. The only reason why not 5 star is the noise. The road noise at night is something else. Bring ear plugs and a noise machine.

Had a wonderful stay at Francesco and Paolas house!! The property is really magnificent and we had the pleasure of a tour of the rest of the giant building! Francesco welcomed us and allowed us to not only check in early but also to check out really late in the afternoon. The location is good, a 6 minute walk to the metro, shops and restaurants all on the doorstep!! Overall I would 1000000% recommend and we will be back next year!!

The hosts were lovely, and communicated wonderfully with us before hand. Unfortunately the room was under renovation and was not ready fully when we arrived. Contractors had to return even the next day to finish the job. In addition, there were a few items that needed maintenance which we had to point out. These did all get fixed, but detracted from the stay and no compensation was offered. The beds were hard - perhaps these will get upgraded soon, and the kitchen utensils were in Very very used condition (no sharp knives, melted spatulas, etc). These things could all be easily improved though, and hopefully will be.The biggest trouble with the place is its lack of sound proofing. The street noise goes on all night long. It does not stop. Shutting the windows and turning on the AC does not block the noise at all. Earplugs don’t block the noise. Noise cancelling headphones don’t completely block the noise, especially not from the revving of engine late at night, or the loud partying in the streets that happened the entire 10 days we stayed. If you plan to be awake all night, then this is the place for you. The historical building has great potential for an amazing place. It was an easy walk to places of interest, it had safe parking for the car, it felt secure. We loved many of the amazing restaurants close by. And to repeat the first point, the hosts were kind and friendly. I hope upgrading projects continue, so that this location realizes its potential.
