About this cottage rental

Riversmeet is overlooking the stunning river and creek side views, close to the local family friendly pub and parks. You’ll love this place because of the tranquil location and cosy cottage feel with beautiful views yet being only 2km from the city centre. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). The property is for your sole use throughout your stay.
The downstairs is open plan to include the lounge and kitchen. There is a table that opens up for 4 places with 4 dining room chairs. An under stairs cupboard provides coat hooks, handy storage space for you and cleaning items if you need them. The lounge area has a pair of matching two seater sofa's surrounding the open wood burner and TV and DVD player. There are also books, DVD's, music system and boardgames for your enjoyment. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. Upstairs the front bedroom has spectacular views of the river, the double bed and a large integral wardrobe. The other bedroom has two deluxe single beds, French doors and a full-length mirror with clothes hanging space. Both rooms have a large chest of drawers to keep your clothes in. The spacious bathroom is located between the two bedrooms which has a bath with shower, sink, toilet, heated towel rail and a cupboard with full length mirror. The cottage is fully carpeted upstairs, including the stairs, apart from the tiled floor bathroom. Downstairs is tiled with a plush rug in the seated area of the lounge and a hardwearing mat in the kitchen. There is a tiered garden at the back of the property that can be accessed by the kitchen door or by walking around the end terrace cottage. The top tier of the garden boasts panoramic views of the beautiful river with an enclosed decking area, seating and bbq.

The kitchen needed a good scrub as there were spider webs around the stove . The guest information book needs updating as we couldn’t find the wifi code. The fireplace was out of order.

Elaine's cottage is in a perfectly quiet location for exploring Truro and its surroundings. We hiked to St. Clement and back on a forest path, and also walked to Truro along the water. Elaine is highly responsive to questions and welcomes us with muffins and milk in the fridge. The beds are super-comfortable!

Had a nice week stay at "Riversmeet" in the small community of Malpas just 2 miles away from the city of Truro. Elaine responded quickly to my questions and the instructions she provided for getting to and into the the rental were clear and understandable. The photos of the place are accurate, and we found almost everthing in order - including very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking equipment, and the place was clean and tidy. The view from the front of the property out onto the estuary is amazing, especially if you climb up the back garden terraces to the top where there is a lovely sitting space.I was disappointed that the listed was not completely accurate, as the place did not have a clothes dryer or a functioning BBQ. I contacted Elaine about that, and she confirmed there was no dryer, and she had forgotten that the BBQ had rusted out. She did offer to try and bring some sort of BBQ equipment over, but we had already bought our supplies for the week eliminated BBQ grilling options from our shopping list. It is also important to know that while parking is free on the street, it is very limited on a narrow road that dead ends about half mile further, and there is a lot of completion for parking due to the nearby popular Heron Inn (has great food!) and marina. The worry about finding parking did cause us to plan to be back to the property by early afternoon so we could secure a space. So all in all, had a nice stay at Riversmeet.

The host was gracious and the location was nice. The Heron Inn a two-minute walk away was awesome. Day trips from there to Cornwall were great. This was the sixth VRBO in the UK we stayed at in the last few weeks. In comparison, if cleanliness is important, then this would not be a good choice. We felt compelled to clean as soon as we arrived and even then a deep clean would be required. We found that the pictures on the website were misleading in terms of cleanliness. If you are looking for a place that welcomes pets, then this might be just right for you. Parking is included but can be challenging as there is only limited street parking and no assigned spot. We let the host know of our concerns with the level of cleaning and she kindly refunded our cleaning fee.
