(HOP, pronounced HOPE is the Native American word for Redwoods)
Come relax in the heart of the Coastal Redwoods in one of our three newly remodeled Cottages that offers a beautiful, cozy retreat including exceptional clean standards. This cottage features 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, large living room,dining room, full kitchen, laundry room that sleeps 8. It is furnished with a King, Queen, & 4 Twins (2 Sets of Bunk Beds). We offer free WiFi for all your streaming, gaming, &/or conferencing needs.
This cottage is one of 4 cottages on our 6 acre property tucked in the middle of the beautiful Redwoods with a spacious backyard alongside Prairie Creek filled with all the amenities of home, perfect for relaxing after all your exploring. Feel free to explore our property & enjoy Prairie Creek that runs along the back. This creek is fishable & sometimes you can even find the wildlife enjoying it, as well.
You will have access to the whole house, back yard & patio area with plenty of patio seating, picnic table, fire pit, and free firewood. During the fall enjoy our wild berries that encircle our property. Don’t be surprised if you are visited by our Elk!
We are tucked in the middle of the National Redwood Park & close to Fern Canyon, Gold Bluff Beach, Prairie Creek Redwood State Park. Please note: from May 15-September 15th, a day use permit is required for Fern Canyon. It is best to acquire this online prior to your arrival. We are 18 miles south of Trees of Mystery, 20 miles north of Trinidad with so many trails, beaches, & lagoons in-between. We are a great central point in all your adventures while exploring the beautiful North Coastal Redwoods while providing a cozy oasis to rest in-between your adventures.
Sometimes in our neck of the Redwoods, we lose power. Now we have a whole-house GENERATOR so your stay with us is not interrupted.

Overall, we had a very nice stay and would recommend this property, especially for anyone wanting a comfortable, centralized location for exploring the redwoods and surrounding parks. The home was spacious, cozy, and worked well for our family trip. We especially appreciated the convenient location and comfortable living spaces after long days of hiking and sightseeing.One thing we didn’t fully realize from the listing was that the house is located on a shared property with other homes/RVs nearby. It wasn’t a major issue, but we were expecting a slightly more private/secluded feel.The other main downside was having only one bathroom for a home that can sleep quite a few people across three bedrooms. For larger groups, that could definitely be challenging.That said, we still really enjoyed our stay overall and made some wonderful family memories here. The cozy atmosphere and beautiful location made it a meaningful trip for us.

It was a comfortable and wondereul stay. The kitchen was easy to use, and all the essentias such as spices and cooking oil were provided.
Both the bedroom and dining area were spacious enough for our family.
Next time, we hope to visit during good weather and enjoy an out door BBQ.

It was like coming home at the end of the day. So close to so many hiking trails. The corner market had what we wanted for breakfast, lunch & dinner. It was nice to cook meals instead of eating out ( there’s no options close by anyway). Nice being “off grid”

The Hope House is very nice and spacious, and it has been beautifully updated. It has 2 king beds, 4 bunks, and 1 bathroom. The mattresses are very comfortable, and the linens were a special treat.The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need — even a wine opener, lol. The location is excellent and close to many popular trails. My favorites were Trillium Falls, Lady Bird Johnson Trail, and Fern Canyon.I would recommend this house in a heartbeat.
