Be our guests at the “Life Saver Room,” a private bedchamber in the Carriage House located in the peaceful hamlet of Old Mystic near the head of the Mystic River, only a 2 mi drive to Mystic Seaport Museum, shops, and restaurants. The Life Saver Room has a private bathroom and a private exterior entrance. Cozy up to a gas fireplace on cold nights, sleep soundly on a comfy queen pencil bed, dressed in lovely linens, and wake up rested to a beautiful mural! Treat yourself to something special!
We promise you will feel cared for the moment you walk through the door- from the warm welcome to a specially prepared bed- made just for you!
The Space
The Life Saver's high ceilings make the room feel spacious, and the half-circle window up top lets in lots of light—especially nice when days are short.
The front windows of this bedchamber overlook the gardens and gazebo. The field and stone walls out back are also lovely views.
During your stay, you will have a mini fridge for your perishables, a Kuerig, and coffee/tea supplies for your morning cup.
Enjoy the bustle of downtown, but come back to the peaceful, quiet Old Mystic- a charming New England Hideaway- a true “Life Saver!” So what are you waiting for? :-D

The Mystic Seaport is a must-see while you are here! It is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels: Charles W. Morgan- the last whaling ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S.; L.A. Dunton, Joseph Conrad, and the Emma C. Berry. Also, Mystic is home to Clyde's Cider Mill- the oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S.
There's something special about this little town- Mystic is a one-of-a-kind place!
Guest Access:
You'll have your own charming bedchamber and a private bathroom with a private exterior entrance. The outside firepit and parking are shared with our other guests.
You'll receive your thorough check-in instructions three days before arrival (or straightaway if booking less than three days), and your keypad code 24 hours before check-in time (or sooner if you reserved a last-minute getaway).
Other Things to Note
We also have guests who stay in our front red property, the 1784 Denison Home. Please park in front of the Carriage House, and our other guests park behind the Denison Home.
The Sailor's Room is our four-legged sailor-friendly room, so you may see a dog while staying.

~ Old Mystic is car-dependent, so if you take the train, you'll need to plan on having an Uber for transportation.

We have stayed at several VRBO's that are individual rooms in a historical residence, this was by far the best. The host's attention to individual detail was beyond expected. The time spent there was like "a night in the museum". The apple pie that greeted us was superb (we waited until breakfast the next morning). We experienced a major snowstorm during our stay; the snow clearing and clean up was timely and complete. (even cleared out the gazebo). The location is extremely convenient to all the attractions in the area. Immensely enjoyed a winter weekend in Mystic, hopefully a visit in the warmer seasons is in the future.

Cant say enough about how AMAZING our stay was!
The room was absolutely perfect! Spotless, comfortable, awesome theme to the room and Debbie was a fantastic host! She even left us some homemade Apple Pie upon check in!

The Lifesaver room was charming and very nautical. So many details, decorations and antiques to look at. Debbie is an excellent host. She made it a very personal welcoming stay, from the welcome note to the Apple pie and all the little extra details. She is the best hostess we have encountered!
