Set on the pristine shores of Lake Gaston, this spacious, kid-friendly getaway combines lakeside relaxation with nonstop entertainment for all ages. With panoramic water views and a prime location just minutes from Holly Grove Marina, Shady Shack Bar & Grill, and local shopping, you'll enjoy the perfect balance of convenience and peaceful escape. Easily accessible just off I-85, Shady Shores makes travel simple—even with a full crew.
This 5,000 sq ft home comfortably sleeps up to 18 guests with 6 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, making it ideal for large families or multiple families vacationing together. The open-concept main living area is warm, welcoming, and perfect for gathering after a day on the lake.
Kids will love the dedicated bunkroom, featuring four sets of bunk beds—a cozy hangout space to watch movies, play video games, or dive into one of the 25+ board games provided. Parents will love having space for everyone to spread out while still being together.
Downstairs, adults can unwind in the stylish basement bar and lounge, complete with ample seating and a 75” smart TV—a great spot to relax while kids enjoy nearby entertainment.
Speaking of fun… The arcade room is a show-stopper and a favorite with families. Challenge each other to a game of pool, ping pong, Pop-A-Shot basketball, or shuffleboard on the 12 foot table. Retro arcade lovers can enjoy full-size machines including Pac-Man, Street Fighter, Golden Tee, The Simpsons, and the crowd-favorite Metallica pinball machine—fun for kids, teens, and nostalgic parents alike. The arcade is temperature controlled.
Outside, enjoy a private lakeside oasis. The expansive deck and screened porch offer plenty of seating for meals, games, or morning coffee with a view. The private dock is perfect for swimming, fishing, or relaxing by the water (approximate depth at the end of the dock is 4.5 feet). 1. We know what it's like to have dogs that are part of the family, so we welcome well-behaved, fully housebroken dogs (limit 2). All dogs must be supervised at all times or in a crate if home alone. Please respect our home by keeping the dogs off of the furniture, inside and outside. It is the owner's responsibility to clean up any pet waste. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $250. No cats please. Trained service animals are welcome! Otherwise, we have a strict "no pets" policy. We can help arrange lodging for your pets (as long as they are up to date on shot records which must be provided) at a local boarding facility during your stay, if you'd like; just give us a call...way in advance, as they fill up fast!
2. The house, like 99% of all lake homes on Lake Gaston, uses a septic system. This system is a finely balanced biological system. Please help us keep it working flawlessly by flushing ONLY toilet paper. Renters are responsible for any damage caused by misuse.
3. Bow-Riders and deep draft Wake Board boats need to check their Hummingbirds to ensure adequate depth in all coves. Pontoons should have no issues and everyone is welcome to tie off at the dock with rental boats.(make sure to bring your bumpers!).
4. Culverts & Bridges: Be sure to lower your Bimini top when going under bridges or through culverts. Appearances can be deceiving!
5. Security Camera Disclosure: We take your privacy very seriously. However, this home is monitored by exterior security cameras in the following locations:

This property fit our needs perfectly. It was a perfect spot for a 4th of July lake vacation. Kids ranged from 22 to 2 so we were thrilled with the floor plan and activities the property had to offer. The host was always available to answer questions .Nothing negative to say! It met all of our expectations.

We had a fantastic time at Shady Shores! The dock and all the activities available… Kayaking, paddle boarding, canoe… were great! We had six kids to keep busy and they loved it! We also rented a pontoon boat which we were able to tie up at the dock.The house was great with a fantastic game room, plenty of big TVs to watch the soccer games and a great area for the kids downstairs with a large bunk room. A great place for a big family. The only thing I would say is there just weren’t enough bathrooms for all of us —-only three. Even so, I would give this a 10.

Property had a lot of great features that we really enjoyed - game room, nice dock & swimming area, bar, comfortable open family spaces, ... In my opinion the property could use a little TLC and pro-active replacement or maintenance on items that are nearing the end of their service life BEFORE they fail.
